Who Should I Vote for If I Don't Like Trump or Hillary?

I heard a joke the other day: "Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump fall off a boat and begin to drown, who survives? Answer: America." A lot of people are confused and frustrated with what they would do when given the choice between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. One is a radical man that flip-flops on issues about every single minute, the other is under an FBI investigation and known to single out the younger generation. For many, this is a year to just not vote or start considering what living in another country might be like. So what should you do, and more importantly what can you do?

There are many options out there, and what I am here to tell you is that you do not have to settle. Many people forget that the democratic nominee election process is not over, so for you Bernie Supporters out there, now is not the time to let the "BERN" heal but instead let everyone feel it. California's Primary is on June 7th and offers up to 475 delegates. A big win for Sanders could mean a big shift in political momentum going into the rest of the primaries. It is also not a big jump to say this couldn't happen. Bernie is polling within about 10% points from Hillary and seems to be narrowing everyday we get closer to June 7th. On Memorial Day, Bernie Sanders partook in parades in military honors in California while Hillary Clinton spent time in New York. It seems Hillary is not too worried as Sanders continues to put effort into the election. This isn't even the most important thing for all of you Bernie supporters, as in almost every General Election poll while Hillary Clinton only wins by 2-10% or ties against Trump, Bernie Sanders wins by 15% or more in most every state except a select few. When Hillary was asked about this on Meet the Press, Hillary blames this on attack ads, which Sanders gets few of, but shouldn't that say something about Bernie Sanders as a Candidate, if few people are willing able to find things on Bernie to attack. (By the way, PolitiFact found that Statement to be false, and Bernie has largely been attacked by other Democrats that support Hillary.) The most important attack on Bernie was announced accidentally on MSNBC this week. Chris Mathews admitted that the network planned on announcing Hillary Clinton as the winner in order to discourage voters. So as far as Hillary Clinton calling for Bernie to drop out, seems people who support you are not so sure. Also, the ones who suggest this would unite the democratic party so they can beat Trump, why vote for a candidate who will only increase 5% points when Bernie drops, and instead just vote for the man who is proven to beat him, that seems more uniting to me. So, the route for many Bernie Supporters should be to continue to fight for and "Feel the BERN," because giving up is not an option for you.

Now, there are many people who are not to fond of Hillary and Trump, that also would never vote for Bernie Sanders, but do not worry, there are other options out there. While it is a long shot in most elections, the unfavorable percentage for Hillary, Trump, and even a little with Bernie, really opens up the door for a third party candidate. In the History of the election process, Third Party candidates have only been able to muster distant third place finishes, but with as much confusion and political anger for the options provided, the third party candidate seems to be a pretty viable option. Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is seriously considering running as a third party candidate. Now, this comes with it's ups and downs, Bloomberg is far from what many will call a great candidate, but for many looking at the options available he may be the option to go for. That being said, there is plenty of time for other third party candidates, the Libertarians are currently pegged former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson as their candidate and attacked Trump for his current polocies and immigration suggestions. There will be others from the political left and right, and it's going to come down to how much America is willing not to settle.

No matter what you choose to do, you must realize the problem with the power hungry Republican and Democratic party. They are willing to select and support candidates that so many are opposed to. Now, I understand that Donald Trump has basically won and is the presumptive nominee for the GOP, but so many candidates who said they would never support him laid down and rolled over in support of him. Seems Party Loyalty is more important than constituents and ethics. The same goes for the democratic party calling for Bernie to drop out when he still has a chance and has encouraged so many young people to be politically involved, not to mention keeping an established system of power and money that is the super delegate, that says to the people, "we don't care about your voice, we care about what makes us money an candidate that will listen to exactly what we want instead of sticking to their ideals." If we as Americans who don't support the candidates that are available to us, then why do we have to settle? Why do we have to give up on our voice? I thought this was "We the people," not, "We the powerful leaders of the Two party system." Will America survive this election, for many we were fine to begin with, but for so many others, given the choice between Hillary and Trump, we refuse to settle. When you vote for the lesser evil, you are still voting for evil.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
