Over the last month or so, a quite controversial topic has risen due to a potential bill being passed in Canada. The bill could potentially ban people from adopting certain breeds of dogs, including pit bulls, in specific areas. This could result in thousands of dogs who are unable to be adopted being euthanized.
There are various breeds that are linked to a violent reputation, but that doesn't mean that they're all out for blood. Although there are many cases where dogs have attacked and even killed people, not all have that instinct. These pups just want some love. Dozens of homeowners and renters insurance companies won't allow you to have particular breeds of dogs, including pit bulls, German shepherds, rottweilers, and dobermans. It is heartbreaking that so many innocent animals suffer because of a stigma around them.
This is definitely the face of a killer dog. He might kill you with smiles.
Uh, oh. We have a princess in the house. She's destined to take someone down.
Yikes! Watch out for this one. He ate a squirrel and is wearing his skin to warn others not to mess with him.
No! He's going to kill the penguin!
This picture speaks volumes. So many people are horrified when they see pit bulls around babies or children. This dog is protecting the baby. They have a natural instinct to protect, not kill. They attack when they feel threatened or have been through something horrible.
"I might look like an innocent little girl, but that's because I am."
Did someone say "bacon?"
I don't think it's possible to stress how important this is. Not all pits are killers.
"Hold still. I'm just going to lick your face."
"My best friend is a little deer. I love my tiny friend. "
Time for the honeymoon!
This is the life, man.
This just supports how the stereotype surrounding these dogs isn't always true. You can't define an entire group by the actions of a few within that group.
I'm Buster, the baddest dog on the streets.
15.
I don't understand how you can't love this face?
Please, don't kill me for what my brother did. I promise, I won't hurt you. If you save me, you'll be my hero. I'll protect you with my life. Please. I didn't do anything to you. I just want to love you.
It should be completely up to an owner whether or not to risk owning a potentially dangerous dog. Laws forbidding the ownership of certain breeds are completely ludicrous. If a dog is raised to be violent, that is on the owner. There will always be cases in which something tragic could happen, but getting rid of that breed is not a practical solution.
