1. You get to eat unlimited amounts of pasta because you actually need it.
Pasta parties before meet day are vital, it is great to actually be allowed to eat mountain loads of pasta and have zero worries.
2. You don’t have to spend as much time shaving your legs...unless its playoffs.
Believe it or not, shaving your legs during playoff season allows the swimmer to take seconds off of their time from before with hairy legs! Crazy right?
3. You are always in shape.
ALWAYS in shape, swimming works out every muscle!
4. You create the best of friends and spend almost every minute with them.
For me, I had practice 6 days a week meaning that my team turned into my sisters who I was always with.
5. You get asked if you’re fast like Michael Phelps and you just shrug your shoulders like “I guess so”.
Everyone somehow thinks just because you swim you must be equivalent to Michael Phelps when it comes to his speed!
6. Only the cool kids at school are swimmers.
No, but really, swimming is the best sport which makes those who swim the coolest people ever.
7. You get to own a jet pack of a book bag in which you decorate with all of your winning ribbons.
And by jet pack, I mean a real jet pack... this book bag is so big it essentially weighs you down because it is filled with water bottles from practice two months ago.
8. Your chances of getting hurt aren’t as high because it is just you and the water.
How could you possibly get hurt in the water!?
9. You get to wear the cutest suits and caps according to whichever season it is.
There are suits and caps to match every personality as well as season, and it is okay to be like me and wear a Christmas suit in the summer!
10. You are a SWIMMER, what could possibly be cooler than that?
The best decision I made was joining the swim team!
