I love going to a small school for so many reasons, my favorite being that the walk to my classes is basically non-existent. For those of you that don't go a small school and have no idea what I'm talking about, let me shed some light on the situation. I can leave my dorm at 7:50 a.m. for my 8:00 a.m. lecture and make it there by 7:54 a.m. It's fantastic.
Despite my short walk to classes, there's plenty of time to think about things. Here are some of my most common thoughts, told with a little help from Steve Carell.
1. "Why are you running to class? It's five feet away from you!"
This one gets me every time. When I say that my campus is small, I mean that my campus is small. You walk a couple hundred feet and BOOM, you've made it to your next class. When I see people running, I just giggle. There's no reason to run on this campus, unless you woke up late, of course.
2. "Hi, you over there with the face, please look at me."
I go to a campus that is filled with beautiful people. LITERALLY. Everywhere I look there is someone I see that I want to marry. I love you all. Please love me back.
3. "I forgot my coffee. Sh*t."
I have classes at eight in the morning Monday through Friday. I am basically a zombie in the mornings. Four out of the five days of the week I forget my coffee and die a little bit inside.
4. "WHY DO I ALWAYS SEE YOU!?!"
Realistically speaking, you don't always get along with every human being that goes to your school. Going to a small school is difficult because on your short commute to classes you're bound to see someone you don't like.
5. "Do I really have to go to class?"
Everyone has experienced this feeling one, two, or 17 times during the semester. Walking to class, I've caught myself looking up my syllabus to see the allowed number of misses before it adversely affects my grade. Sometimes you just aren't feeling class.
So there it is, ladies and gentlemen, the most common thoughts of a student that goes to a small private school as she takes her sweet time strolling to classes.
