I had my own room for 16 years and now I realize how lucky I was -- sharing a room with your sibling is actually terrible. Don't get me wrong I love my sister but sharing a room with her has taught me things I never knew. Now I understand why people call her Messy Jessie -- even though messy is an understatement. I have found an old bowl of ice cream once under her bed, she leaves money around everywhere (not that I'm complaining) and I have truly realized how unorganized and dirty she really is. I wish I never had the chance to find out what it's like to share a room with a sibling but now I know what it's like.
1. Impossible to clean.
After I clean up my stuff I end up just cleaning hers too because I hate when the room looks like a mess after I just cleaned it. Double the work and she just messes it up the next day anyway.
2. No privacy.
I am constantly kicking her out for some peace and quiet!
3. More arguments.
More time spent together is more time for screaming and pulling each other's hair out.
4. Late nights.
If she wants to go to sleep and I'm not tired I'm forced to leave my comfy bed, although mostly I am the one who wants to go to sleep and she has to leave.
5. Clothes go missing.
I guess since we now share the same walls it gives her easy access to my entire wardrobe, therefore I am always missing my favorite clothes.
6. Hair -- everywhere.
Her hair is red and my hair is brown so it is easy to tell who's it is and let me tell you, red hair is everywhere.
7. There's always company.
She always seems to have a friend over every time I just want to watch Netflix in the comfort of my own bed.
8. Morning routines.
I am a very light sleeper so I wake up to every alarm she sets -- and she sets about five within 10 minutes.
Don't get me wrong I love my sister, but I think we both like it better when we had our own rooms.
