Perhaps the biggest Cinderella story of the NFL is Shaquem Griffin. A former Central Florida linebacker, Griffin has defined all odds, showcasing one of the most impressive combines in over a decade.

Putting on a clinic, Griffin turned heads and showed the talent was real. Running a 4.38 40-yard dash, the fastest by any linebacker since 2003, and lifting 225lbs for 20 reps on bench press, it proved he belongs. His goal coming into the combine was six reps. His previous max was 11 reps. Throughout the country, NFL players took notice. Players like Antonio Brown and Richard Sherman both tweeted out impressed with the performance and speed of Griffin.

The story all began when he was a child. Griffin was born with a congenital condition which ultimately led to the amputation of his left hand at age four. Griffin and his family made the decision because of the ongoing pain he felt.

During his time at UCF, he was AAC defensive player of the year and Peach Bowl defensive MVP. In his senior season, Griffin recorded 74 tackles, seven sacks, and one interception.

His journey to the top wasn’t easy. In his first two seasons, he only saw the field three times. Being recruited by UCF with his twin brother Shaquill Griffin, now Seattle Seahawks cornerback, he thought it was time to give up. He started to think football wasn’t the path for him. He got his opportunity when Scott Frost took over the program in 2016, converting him from cornerback to linebacker.

Being a freshman and sophomore, he was frustrated, but he trusted the process and it worked out in his favor.

He started to realize all the obstacles, and struggles growing up were paying off.

In a league where everyone is bigger, faster, and stronger, Griffin’s attitude will take him a long way. He is at the level where he is evaluated equally as everyone else, something he’s always wanted.

In a world where people are so quick to judge, Griffin has taken a limitation and turned it into the most inspiring, and uplifting story in sports. He has created a following, and a fan base that is cheering for nothing but success. He is on the verge of breaking a barrier, and doing something that has never been done before.

All the while, he has been a great brother, teammate, and an example of what it means to not give up, and why to always chase dreams.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
