A Sexist, Rape Culture Based Talk Show Thrives In LA

OITNB celebrity Matt McGorry schooled the hell out of a sexist, rape-promoting radio show.

Last night, Matt McGorry, a previous OITNB star who is known for being incredibly proactive towards equal rights for women and people of color, exposed the truth of an unbelievable talk show in Los Angeles to his 450,000 Twitter followers.

Matt starts off his drag-of-the-century by tweeting about what he heard in his LA cab ride.

It's called "The Woody Show," something most of us have never heard of, and probably for the best. It's repulsive.

Apparently, the show has a segment that involves interviewing anonymous females, and based on how those females answer questions, the show's hosts are left to guess whether the woman in question is skinny or fat. Did I mention one of those questions included their particular like or dislike for anal sex? Can it get any worse? Yes. Yes it can.

Whoever runs "The Woody Show's" Twitter page must have felt panicked enough to immediately act defensively after being called out by the greatest male feminist icon of our time. It seems they couldn't think of a great enough argument in time before Matt's fan army attacked.

The talk show employees demanded proof of the TV star's experience. Pics or it didn't happen.

Matt responds quickly, "Around 10:30 PM in L.A." "The Woody Show" jumps to defend themselves.

In other words, "we only air at 6 a.m. You couldn't have heard that at 10:30 p.m." They continue to ask Matt for proof, which was undeniably, a mistake. Keep in mind, Matt's followers are watching this unfold. The talk show social media goers attempt to shut down the argument quickly, continuing to ignore the content of their "Fat Chick Vs. Skinny Chick" segment and fight about the time of day instead.

His argument is locked and loaded with a video of the show playing during his cab ride for proof, which you can see below. In under two minutes, you can hear the disgusting questions these "professionals" call fun and games. Listen closely for when they ask questions like, "What kind of alcohol do you like to drink when you go out? How drunk do you have to be to be DTF? How do you feel about back door sex? Do you like diet soda or regular soda?"

Watch the video here.

Within minutes of Matt tweeting his video, "The Woody Show" deletes all of their responses used to defend themselves. Every. Single. One. You couldn't find them within 30 seconds of that video being posted. So now they just want to act like it never happened.

"The Woody Show" then responds to Matt with two weak screenshots of a few of their Instagram posts -- one of the show raising money for charity and another post of an LGBT ribbon showing support for the Orlando victims. Wow. Gold star for you, ALT 98.7.

Thank you, Matt, for constantly being the voice we need. Thank you for, once again, speaking up on an issue that needs to be spoken about. Thank you for exposing a "talk show" that we don't ever need or want to hear, never mind allowing our children and young women to hear it. The last thing we need is more sexism and women objectification.

Not only are "The Woody Show's" actions disgusting, unjustified, and incredibly sexist, their terrible grammar seems to match up to their equally poor excuse for a radio show. Being called out and exposed not only embarrassed the people who run this radio station, but hopefully now that someone has brought attention to their lack of morals, Los Angeles listeners will choose to turn to a different radio station tomorrow morning.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
