My Tribute To 9/11

We should spread love and love one another no matter what the circumstances are.

My Tribute To 9/11
Letter From Lund

15 years ago, on a Tuesday, our entire country was attacked. It only took 102 minutes for our country to change forever. Hijacked planes destroyed the Twin Towers and the Pentagon within an hour. I was only four years old and barely knew what was going on. I wish I could say I remember everything that happened, but sadly I don't. I imagine it was a day full of tears and fears. Growing up, I still did not quite understand what the "September 11th attack" was. I don't remember fully understanding until I was probably 10 years old and even then, I still had a hard time. Each year we learned about 9/11, but at such a young age, it was hard for kids to comprehend that a terrorist group wanted to completely destroy and end our country. I will never know exactly what occurred that day and I will never be able to imagine the pain that this country felt. But, I do feel the sorrow now. As I grew older, I began to realize that our country was permanently damaged and that we would never fully heal. Until this day, we still have not healed. We mourn the loss of almost 3,000 people, almost 3,000 people that were just trying to live their daily lives. Firefighters, police officers, and government workers were just a few to name. It breaks my heart that the people that gave their lives to protect and serve us, lost their lives on that day. Wives, husbands, children, mothers and fathers lost their family members. Family members they will never be able to replace. This will probably never become a headlining article, but if it does, I want every single family that lost a loved one to know that we all still pray every night for their strength. We pray that each day they can walk the streets of this country and know that they are in God's hands. Their loved ones were brave enough and stood for what they believed in and they should be so proud of that. I want them to know, that they will never be forgotten. September 11th is a day of remembrance. A day to honor each life that was lost. I personally want to thank every firefighter and EMS responder for risking their lives day in and day out to protect, serve, and help our country. You get out there and do everything you can and at the end of the day, we do not show you the appreciation we should. Thank you for what you do. With that being said, our country needs to come together as one and fight for the freedom and protection we all equally deserve. We live in this country together and its sad to see that so much is going on that could easily be avoided. We should spread love and love one another no matter what the circumstances are.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
