With woman and men, boys and girls loving makeup comes testing products and the subscription boxes such as Birchbox, Ipsy and the ever growing new Sephora Play Box. With subscriptions you usually get a range of products tailored to your hair, skin and nails. They will give you products like a hair mask for curly hair or a foundation for yellow undertones in skin. The great thing is that usually they are pretty cheap for what the value of the box actually is. Some boxes are, of course, more expensive than others, but luckily with makeup they usually are pretty similar in pricing.
Personally, loving makeup and being in the makeup community online I like looking at the new products out there. By no means do I consider myself to be an expert or claim to know everything because, trust me, everyone can improve, whether it's on applying lashes or doing winged eyeliner. But with whatever the makeup skill, beginner or guru, the Sephora Play Box subscription is a great deal.
For 10 USD, which is 7.63 pounds, 1061.05 yen or 13.39 Australian dollars, to name a few. Within this monthly subscription box you get four to six products ranging from hair, nails, makeup to skin care. The sizes of the products determine how many products you get each month, if some products are full size you are more likely to only get four things but if a lot of things are smaller or what they call deluxe size you are more likely apt to get five to six products.
I received my first box in July and did not know what to expect or what products I would receive. As of right now it is only available to those to who get on the list through email. To get one you have to go to the website which its sephora.com/play, then you enter your email and unfortunately wait until they email you saying you can get the box. Sephora is currently working on getting it to more countries, but for now its only in the United States; they have said they are still working out a few bugs. If you are in the states it is definitely worth the 10 dollars a month.
In all honesty the Play Box is worth it for the amount of product you are getting, yes you are getting mostly a deluxe version but it is still expensive for each product. It is a great way to test different products and see if they work for you. By getting the box you can test things out that you may thought to never try or reach for. You can also get products you've always wanted to try but couldn’t maybe afford. It’s a great way to find out how it reacts with your body and see if you like it before spending the money on the full size and risking not even liking it, then being stuck with a product you're never going to use. Let’s face it, makeup is expensive at Sephora so truly the Sephora Play Box is a great steal for those makeup lovers out there such as myself.
