5 Reasons To Learn To Love Yourself
thought catalog

Most people, especially women, have something they dislike about themselves. However, there are many reasons that they should learn to love themselves and see the beauty in themselves. Beauty is not always looks. Beauty is everything that a person is made up of, and more.

1. Confidence Is Attractive

People can tell when you are self-conscious and it often makes them feel uncomfortable, whereas when you are confident they usually see the way you glow with happiness. Confidence attracts others, so you won't be lonely. Being confident always makes others feel confident about you.

2. Loving Yourself Relieves Stress

If you feel good about yourself, you won't always be stressed about whether you look good enough. You will actually have the time to enjoy whatever it is you are doing. Lets be honest, what's not to love about yourself?

3. You Cannot Truly Love Anyone Unless You Learn To Love Yourself

If you can't even treat yourself right, how can others believe that you will treat them right. You cannot care for others if you are in too poor of "health." You have to care for yourself in order to care for others. Part of caring for yourself is loving and believing in yourself, and part of that is feeling beautiful and confident in yourself.

4. When Picking Apart Yourself, You Will Pick At Others Very Harshly.

Say you think you have large ears, you meet another person with the same size ears as you but they have a larger head, you will say to yourself "but they have huge ears," but in reality their ears are perfectly normal. When you pick at yourself, you tend to pick at others. So instead of picking out the things you dislike about yourself pick out the things you like.

5. If You Learn To Love Yourself Day To Day Life Will Be Easier Than Before

If you are happy with yourself, life will simply be smoother. You won't feel as if everyday drags on. You will be able to come at life with a much more optimistic point of view. If you learn to love yourself, life will simply be better.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
