Everyone has one person in their life that they give a second chance to more than enough times. Second chances have lost their meaning with how some people treat them nowaday. People only need to learn a lesson once, don't let people treat you poorly after you've given them their deserved second chance.
By giving someone repetitive second chances you are simply allowing the same person to walk all over you, which simply isn't fair to you. No one deserves to be disrespected that way. A second chance is called a second chance for a reason, people only need to learn a lesson once. If someone cares enough they will take a second chance seriously. We all know someone who gives a significant other, or even just a friend, multiple second chances, and the same problems continue to arise. Why would someone willingly put themselves through problems that can be prevented? A person should acknowledge their mistakes and work to better themselves. If they take a second chance seriously there would be no need to keep handing out second chances.
On the other side of a situation try not to be that person that takes constant advantage of multiple second chances. Be aware that you were lucky enough to receive another chance and that you should change something; not disrespect the person giving you another shot. Learn the lesson that needs to be learned, however if you feel that the lesson is unfair to you, then the relationship isn't worth it to either person. There needs to be boundaries on both sides, be fair to one another.
Some friendships/relationships are worth fixing when given a second chance. But if second chances are continuously handed out than the relationship isn't worth it to either person. Second chances, need to be given once. If nothing changes than it's time to cut that person out of your life. Be grateful of the second chances you receive, but remember to only give one second chance.
