Dear Goodness, America: Hillary Clinton’s Emails Are Really Not That Bad

The emails that don’t make the headlines may say the most about her character.

Dear Goodness, America: Hillary Clinton’s Emails Are Really Not That Bad

From the “Lock her up!” chants at the Republican National Convention to the “Hillary for Prison” t-shirts and posters at your typical Trump rally, it’s no secret that Hillary Clinton’s email scandal is one of the most widely discussed topics when it comes to this Tuesday’s election. In July, the State Department, after sifting through the emails under FBI investigation, concluded that Hillary Clinton was not guilty of any crime and would not be indicted. A couple of weeks ago in October, WikiLeaks released a slew of emails that were not released to the public during the State Department-FBI investigation.

In a recent rally in Michigan, The Screaming, “I-know-you-are-but-what-am-I” Cheeto called Clinton a bad role model for his own son Barron and “for the children in this country.” But, while this email fiasco has taught us the importance of caution and internet security, the Huffington Post reports that there were quite a few emails that were leaked, but not headlined by the media, that prove that Trump’s claims about Hillary’s seemingly deplorable character may be outlandish and uncorroborated. Here is why.

After an earthquake razed the island of Haiti in 2010, HRC emails Cheryl Mills, Huma Abedin, and a third unidentified individual to ensure that the doctors in Haiti receive the medical supplies they need.

Subject -- Fw: Help for dying patients.

“Mark, emergency room doc, is w Paul Farmer; Pier is his orthopedic surgeon wife. Is there any way to help asap? This should be the highest priority. Coulc (sic) one of the medical teams alreay (sic) there move over to help? Could Gen Keen or UN get the supplies and generators they need to them at first light?”

Helping people in need? What a monster. But, wait, there’s more!

Subject -- Re: Help for dying patients.

“Also food and water?”

SACRILEGE.

After the 2010 Haiti earthquake, HRC tries to raise awareness for increasing child trafficking rates in Haiti.

Subject -- Re: Haiti - child trafficking.

“This is important. I will work on it -- there’s a very long and sobering list. Does Jillian have specific ideas?”

Fighting human trafficking? Whoa there, Hillary might as well change her name to HITLER-y.

HRC tries to help a girl in Yemen.

Subject -- Noori Ali.

“Do you recall Noori Ali(?), the ten year. old Yemeni girl who got herself divorced? I met her at the Glamour awards last year. There was a CNN story last few days about how unhappy she is, still living at home, not attending school and quite angry that her life is not better. Is there any way we can help her? Could we get her to the US for counselling (sic) and education?”

Giving a strong young girl a chance at a better life? Deplorable!

HRC responds to the closing of an Illinois group home for abused young boys.

Subject -- Re: The closing of Jamal Place.

“What a sad commentary about our values today. I sound more curmudgeonly everyday but it is hard to see the clock being turned back on so much that matters, especially poor kids. Oh well, I can only hope the tide turns soon.”

I’M SHOOK.

Obviously, these are a few of many emails WikiLeaks released to the public, but that’s not the point. What these emails really show is that Clinton wasn’t Hil-lying when she said she wanted to lead a life of service. She has gone out of her way to help others when the media or public wasn’t watching her. Can we say the same thing about Trump? That’s up for you to decide.

To all skeptics, I have some questions for you.

Hillary Clinton has ties to big money. Trump is big money. So, why do we call Hillary Clinton a shill, while praising Donald Trump as an “outsider?”

Hillary Clinton used a private server as Secretary of State and apologizes. Donald Trump has openly admitted to tax evasion, has deliberately scammed thousands of poor students through a fake university, has stiffed hundreds of workers and small businessmen still waiting to be paid through flawed methods of invoicing and paying bills, has been sued by the Justice Department for refusing to rent to black tenants, and has been accused of sexual assaulting a 13-year-old girl and at least 10 other women. He denies the accusations, does not apologize, and scapegoats someone else to push the attention away from himself. So, why is Clinton “the corrupt one” when Trump’s scandals are far more egregious?

Hillary Clinton deleted 33,000 emails as Secretary of State, from what we know so far. During the Bush administration, Republican president George W. Bush and VP Dick Cheney deleted 22,000 emails (that’s a lot of emails as well) while in office, all of which had been sent and received through private email servers. They too should have known better, yet they never got a trial. So, what makes Hillary Clinton any different?

Hillary Clinton oversaw the State Department when 4 people tragically died in an embassy attack. 2 Republicans were in the executive office when over 200 people died in multiple embassy attacks. No one was tried. No one was indicted. So, why should Hillary Clinton be treated differently?

Hillary Clinton took a loss of $700 thousand. Donald Trump made $4 billion over the span of 40 years, but if he had invested in index funds, he would be worth $12 billion today... without declaring bankruptcy 6 times, scamming students and small businessmen, or facing an overwhelming number of lawsuits. So, why do we justify our hatred for Clinton and our love for Trump because he’s “savvy with his money?”

Hillary Clinton’s charity foundation spent around 90% of its donations helping others in need. Donald Trump used his charity’s money to pay off his own debts and buy sculptures of himself. Only 5% of the Trump Foundation’s donations actually went to charity, and the foundation isn’t even registered as a non-profit charity in 38 states, including New York. So, why is Hillary Clinton “crooked” when Trump only receives a slap on the wrist from the public?

Our country is on the line this Tuesday. Please choose wisely.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
