1. You force yourself to stay up until 2 a.m. texting, even when you REALLY want to go to sleep, so that you can finish your not-so-important conversation.

2. You listen to stories about the crappy boy in her life and would be completely satisfied driving 7 hours home to punch him in the face and then drive back to school.

3. Spontaneous trips home are even greater because that means catching up on girl time.

4. Random phone calls put the biggest smile on your face.

5. Random phone calls also get you heated because that means a long rant is coming.

6. Scrolling through pictures of summer make you upset because you miss her beautiful face and making memories with her too much.

7. You receive texts that are formatted as a 10,000-page novel when you ask how her life is going.

8. You get tagged in random memes that remind her of you.

9. Random Instagram appreciation posts make your day.

10. You keep each other up to date on your lives via Snapchat.

11. You know that cute boy from English class? You’ve sent a picture of him to her and waited to get her approval before continuing any form of relationship.

12. “You’re ignoring me”

“Stop ignoring me”

“Hellooooo”

“Answer me”

If you don’t respond within two minutes of receiving a text prepare for some serious spam.

13. She knows all the names of the people that you can’t stand at school because vent sessions are too real.

14. Did she get into a fight with Dad? She’s already texted you all the information and a detailed explanation of why she was right in the situation.

15. You get snap chats of your dog often because she knows they make your entire week.

16. You receive 80 pictures that are all super similar, with the following text: Which one should I post???

17. You pick the one that you think she should post, but she decides to post one that she likes better.

18. You are bothered and respond: “Why did you ask me then???”

19. Every selfie gets sent to her to be hyped up prior to posting on Instagram.

20. You start to cry, go to the bathroom to hide out because you are crying and then text her that you are crying in the bathroom because of how much you miss her (maybe this one is just me).

21. You love her with your whole heart and are counting down the days to be together again!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
