Back to school-- the three big words most students hate to hear. It means homework, studying, new classes, new people, and new experiences. Rather than look at back to school as a bad thing, students should be more eager to start. Don’t be nervous students! You can easily survive it, and here is how.
Don’t look at the first day as scary, be excited! It is the perfect opportunity to make new friends, get involved more and it is just an overall new beginning! Isn’t it great how every semester each student gets to start fresh, so do it right. Try your best to go out of your comfort zone. Go up to people, tell them your name, ask them things such as their major or where they are from, and you might find you have more in common with them than you thought. It’s so simple, yet people are so timid about doing it. When making new friends, try to find friends in your classes, so studying and homework doesn't have to be horrible either. Form a study group, choose new places each time to study, so you get to explore different parts of the campus or town you are in as well. If you see someone who is sitting alone or struggling to get involved, go up to them! Maybe they are just shy! You can take this opportunity to break the ice and become friends.
School is such an important asset to peoples lives because it teaches them how to juggle a job, a social life, and classes. This is key to joining the real world because you will always need to learn how to have a balance. So students, my major tip to you is to immerse yourself in the positive and great things back to school has to offer, and may this year be greater than your last one.
