If you're anything like me, you live vicariously through celebrity relationships, so when they're over, you feel the loss pretty freaking deeply. Let us mourn the deaths of some of the most beautiful relationships to grace the covers of the trashy magazines we see in line at the grocery store.
Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams
Does anyone else remember that epic MTV kiss? That clip was my LIFE. When asked how his relationship to Rachel stacked up to their on-screen romance in The Notebook, Ryan Gosling actually said, "Rachel and my relationship is a hell of a lot more romantic than that." REALLY BRO? Don't play me like that.
Jennifer Aniston & Brad Pitt
First, please take a moment to appreciate that GIF. Secondly, I think everyone pitied Jen in that situation for years afterward. Thank god she's happy now with her sexy fiancé Justin Theroux. I'd like to say she dodged a bullet, but damn Brad Pitt is a fine specimen.
John Mayer & Katy Perry
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Oh my god, LOOK AT THEM. As someone deeply invested in the love life of John Mayer, this split hurt me on deep, spiritual levels. In my opinion, their relationship was waaaay too publicized to actually grow in a healthy way. Rumors of their reunions are running rampant, though, so fingers crossed.
Amy Poehler & Will Arnett
Oh god. Look at their joy. You'd think two of the funniest humans in the world could make it work, but their getting divorced leaves little hope that romantic love is even REAL. It probably isn't tbh.
Harry Styles & Taylor Swift
LOL JK THIS WAS THE BIGGEST JOKE IN HISTORY.
Liam Hemsworth & Miley Cyrus
Once I watched their beach kiss in The Last Song, I was a goner. These two were so smitten it was almost annoying to look at them sometimes, but I have to admit they were adorable. Obviously the breakup was dramatic, if Wrecking Ball is any indication.
Miranda Kerr & Orlando Bloom
Perhaps a couple this gorgeous just isn't meant to last. All I know is their son is going to be a little heartbreaker when he grows up.
Zayn Malik & One Direction
…I'm still not over it. I will never be over it. This is one breakup that should not be permanent.
