Sick of the same drab dining hall food/college eateries that seem to only serve pizza, quesadillas, and fries? Why settle for the same hamburger and chicken fingers when there are other cheap (and awesome!) food choices right outside your door! Get adventurous and try out one of these local eateries for an authentic experience that will redesign the way you see college food!

American

  • Destination Dogs Patterson St ($$): Classy bar serving up some ridiculous looking hot dogs, themed both domestic and international. With 30+ choices, Destination Dogs will not leave you dissatisfied.

Ethiopian

  • Dashen Albany St ($$): The place to beif you want to try something crazy, flavorful, and different! From vegetarian to crepes you can’t go wrong experiencing authentic Ethiopian food and spices.

Jamaican

  • Cool Runnin’s Caribbean Easton Ave ($): Warm casual atmosphere and food that is to die for! Feel right at home, and try some food with spices that are out of this world! If you haven’t been here before, try the spicy beef patties, you won’t regret it.

Japanese

  • Edo Easton Ave ($$): Sushi and ramen; you can’t go wrong! On the pricier side, but come in Monday through Friday to get half off everything on the menu from 4pm-8pm or come in earlier for lunch for a great deal on a ramen dish combo. Great location, but maybe a little pricey for dinner.

Korean

  • Inboston Condict St ($): If you love fried chicken, this is your paradise. One of my favorite places in NB, right off of Easton Ave. This place serves up double fried and korean fried chicken that will change your love for chicken forever!

Mexican

  • Cinco De Mayo French St ($): Some of the most authentic Mexican food you will ever taste; and they deliver! Serving up tamales, mole, burritos, and fresh juice! Don’t let the outside scare you; all the best places are hole in the walls!

Thai

  • Thai Noodle Easton Ave ($$): Great location, prices, and food. About as authentic as Thai can be! If you’re feeling adventurous try the, som-tam, papaya salad or the, pad-kra-pow, basil chicken!
