We know better.
In a world dominated by the hands of social media, we know better. We know shaming, cyber-bullying, and harassment aren’t something to be poking fun at. We know that those things are very offensive for some people. We especially know that we wouldn’t want someone to shame and disrespect our own families, our own friends, and even ourselves, don’t we? So if we know all this, what’s the deal with the term "ho?"
For starters, this loosely tossed around word, is what our society uses to describe a promiscuous individual. FYI, it isn’t something used to pull up grass, but it actually got traded for something newer, shinier, and you know, more derogatory, a while ago.
Like I said, the term isn’t new, so we should know better. But our ever-so-handy sidekick -- that is, social media -- is the main source of this delightful entertainment. Specifically, the place where all the magic, and by magic I mean drama, happens. Good ol' Twitter. Oh don’t we just love it when that celebrity tea gets spilt. Even more specifically, @HOERULES. That’s right, that famous account that somehow always pops up on my timeline, lets people who definitely don’t already know what the term "ho" means, to be explained in simpler rules This account has an especially well-known punchline, “She a ho if…,” that really lets the people know what to watch out for when encountering a woman, yes just women.

Are we maybe wearing glasses because we simply cannot see a thing without them? Slight possibility. But are we wearing them to just be a ho? Oh definitely, absolutely. Shouts to the girls that can’t see, I’m right there with ya, like who has 20/20 vision nowadays anyway?

Hate to break it to whoever even chuckled at this account, but it wasn’t funny back then, and it’s definitely not funny now. Furthermore, it’s actually quite old, and disrespectful. This kind of stuff shouldn’t be circulating the Internet, and I hope that the several men AND women that follow this account are aware that it’s hurtful and offensive towards some people. Come on, we know better.
And obviously some tweets are so ridiculous that they shouldn’t be taken seriously, but shaming is not a joke. It’s not something we poke fun at. As we rise above this horrible attempt of male dominance, I hope we can learn the valuable lessons of:
Staying in our lanes.
Worrying about ourselves.
Not feeding into negativity/ignorance.
And keeping an open mind.
