"We may not have it all together but together we have it all"- Unknown
Dear Roomie,
Thank you for always being there for me. I hope you could say the same for me. Although I'm excited for this new semester and for our many roommate adventures that lie ahead, we are all dealing with some level of stress; each coping with it differently. These pass several months have been miserable for you and honestly I am not going to sit here and say I know how you feel because I don't. What I do know is that it's not easy seeing one of your best friends experience tough times and not know how to help. There are a few things I want you to know.
You are not alone.
I am here for you. I may not be experiencing the same situation or share the same level of stress but I need you to remember that you are not in this alone. I know how it is to feel frustrated and like no one believes or understands you or listens to your concerns. Just know that your family means well and wants to help you. Although I may not be able to help you with a specific situation, I'm here for you if you ever need someone to vent to, advice, company, a good laugh, or need someone to cook you lunch or dinner because you're too stressed or busy to do it yourself. Don't be afraid to ask for help, that's what friends are for.
It's OK to cry.
You are a strong individual and I envy you for how you are handling things, but don't be afraid to show your emotions. Crying does not mean you're weak it often means you've been strong for too long. I have my fair share of tears, too. Take advantage of our tearful talks around the couch or on the way to class. Trust me they are very helpful for me. You will always have a shoulder to lean on, and in some cases to cry on too.
Things will get better.
You may hear this often, but it's true. I wish I could tell you when, but I can't. It's going to take time and I need you to hang in there. I'm a strong believer that everything happens for a reason even though we may never know why. Stay that strong, intelligent, beautiful young lady that you are and never lose sight of what is important. Have hope!
Thank you.
Thanks for always being there for me. You don't know helpful you've been this past year. I love you, girl!
Oh and try reading this every morning. It may help.
"Today is a great day. To smile more, worry less, and be the best version of you. To do more of what makes you happy every day. To be positive and regret nothing. to be humble and work hard. Every day may not be a good day but find something good in every day. Laugh, love, live. Believe in yourself and remember to be AWESOME!"- Unknown
Love,
Your Roomie
