Today, I wore my first romper... And, I can successfully say it did not wedge, prod, or squeeze into any unwanted crevices.
Ladies, if you have given way to the trend that is the romper, you definitely know what I'm talking about.
For those of you who are less familiar with the romper, picture an 80's-inspired jumpsuit. Now cut off the pants mid-thigh to achieve a fabulous, curvy silhouette of the booty. Hence, you have a romper. A one-piece wonder of the clothing world, rompers are impractical but adorable additions to the fashion industry. Perhaps inspiring our inner child from the days of the onesie, rompers help ladies everywhere feel young again, while simultaneously being an adult.
Wearing rompers can lead to a lot of... interesting... obstacles. Rompers are the only item of clothing that require you to practically undress to use the bathroom. Didn't somebody think of zippers for a removable bottom section?
There's also the fact that rompers can be rather ill-fitting on people who buy them too big or too small. You must go into romper shopping with a Goldilocks mindset. Too big and you look like a sack of (very cute) potatoes. Too small and your romper can accidentally end up as a tampon.
One of my friends gave me complete kudos for attempting this bold fashion choice. "You look great," she said. "Every time I try to wear one it just completely goes up my vagina."
Well, I told her I would tell her what happened. So far, so good...
If you have worn a romper before, chances are you've experienced some of these problems. They do say that beauty is pain... If you are considering making a fashion choice with a romper, please remember that it is vital you feel fabulous at all times. Wear what you want, and rock what you want-- The true road to fashion is to romp around in any style you feel confident in.
