They are so good, but so bad.

Let's face it: we all love romantic comedies. If you say you do not, then you are a liar who has no heart...just kidding! But, seriously, they are so good. They bring up so many feelings and the characters are so easy to fall in love with. As good as romantic comedies are, however, you need to be cautious. They are not the best representations of real-life romance and love. Romantic comedies are actually kind of bad for us if we take them too seriously. They are not real!

Romantic comedies give us an unrealistic idea of what love and romance are. They make it seem like you will meet someone and immediately fall in love. That's not how love works! You need to know someone to actually fall in love with them. They teach women that they are supposed to be waiting for the right guy to come along and the moment that happens everything will be better. They teach men that love is this game and you have to win a woman's affection through large romantic gestures. Do not get me wrong, women love flowers and things like that, but love is not big gestures; it is the small things. It is taking care of each other and doing what is best for them.

Also, romantic comedies make you want people to do bad things. There are so many times that these movies have had one of the protagonists in a relationship and we all want them to cheat on them with the other protagonist. If we had friends doing that in real life, we would think it's wrong, but for some reason in these movies we want it to happen. An example from a TV show is Jim and Pam on "The Office." Yes, Jim and Pam are the perfect couple and we were all so happy when they kissed. Heck, we all wanted them to kiss episodes earlier. But Pam was engaged! Yes, he was a jerk, but it's still wrong.

The love in romantic comedies are filled with so many up and downs, it's exhausting. They like each other but for some reason can not be together, get together, something happens (usually some sort of misunderstanding), they break up, and once things are cleared up they get back together. Do you actually want to go through all that?

Romantic comedies are great if you do not take them too seriously. They may make you feel like your life is boring in comparison...

But that is not true. You do not want love that is as complicated as the love in romantic comedies. Real relationships are hard enough. Do not live the life of the woman in the movie waiting for Mr. Right to come around or the man who is trying to get the attention of the girl who ignores him all the time. Just live your life and if it is meant to be, God will put a person in your life.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
