When you are in college there are so many things to do. It is the time to go out and experience new things and live life to the fullest. It is also the best time to take road trips with close friends. This past weekend, I went on a road trip to ASU with two of my closest friends and I had the best time of my life. It was six hours of atrocious singing and uncontrollable laughing. When we finally got to ASU, we had even more fun with friends who go there.
There is really nothing like road tripping to other schools. It makes you feel blessed to have the opportunity to be close enough to friends you can visit them with who are only a drive away. Here are some important things to remember when visiting other schools and road tripping with your homies.
Do your research about the college you are going to. It is awful when you have no idea where you are or don’t know any fun things to do.
Prepare the best playlist, ever. Depending on where your destination is, you are going to need a lot of music.
Pick a group of people who know how to have fun. And that you can deal with for a long period of time, consecutively.
Pack snacks. That was our number one problem on this trip -- spending money. Pack food if you can because it saves you a whole hell of a lot of money.
Do all your homework before you leave. Because you know you won’t do it when you get there.
Tell your parents where you are headed. Then they don’t call you all worried about if you are alive or not.
Make sure you have a place to stay. You don’t want to sleep in your car. It actually happens a lot.
Be respectful of the people who letyou stay in their home. You would want the same
When meeting new people, don’t act awkward. Be outgoing and friendly. People like that and, trust me, they will like you.
Don’t just do exciting things at night. Actually wake up in the morning to explore for the day. You will regret it if you don’t.
When you do go out at night, be careful. Always stay with your buddies. But I hope everyone knows this already.
Try to stay off your phone. Appreciate the people and places around you. You are somewhere else with close friends having fun. Unless it is your mom, dad, or grandma I suggest you stay off your phone.
Be prepared for anything. Be prepared for arguments, be prepared for car troubles, and be prepared for meeting strangers and interacting with them, good or bad. Expect the unexpected.
