There Is Already So Much Pressure On College Students That We Shouldn't Worry About Ring By Spring

Is it really necessary?

Once you start college it seems like everyone you know is in a serious relationship, married, or popping out babies. You feel like you are the only one of your friends who is single, which makes you start to question your self-worth.

Now it is Spring and everywhere you look it seems that everyone is getting down on one knee and your Instagram feed starts blowing up with cute proposal pictures.

There is pressure put on millennials that once we go to college we have to find our significant other, get married and have children shortly after we graduate. This is a lot of pressure for a young college student who is trying to focus on their education and become an adult.

There is already so much pressure put on college students to be successful in their academics, to get scholarships and know what they want to do with their lives at the age of eighteen, that finding a significant other only adds to the stress. Going home is already dreadful when all of your relatives ask you if you are dating anyone and you have to disappoint them with your answer that you are still single.

Do not let being single get you down. It is nothing to be ashamed of.

Do not compare yourself to all of the other people who are in relationships and getting engaged. Their lives are completely different from yours and the right person will come to you when the time is right.

Do not stress or give into the pressure of trying to find someone to spend the rest of your life with. Work on finding yourself and who you want to be. Work on you and do what you want to do with your life, not what other people want you to do with your life. It is your life, do what you want with it.There is no "life rule book" that says you have to get married or you have to have children.

Do what you want to do. Get your degree, travel the world. If getting married is not what you want, then do not give into the pressure to do so. Be your own person.

Do not do what society tells you to.

The pressure to find someone and have a ring on your finger by a certain time in your life is somewhat unrealistic and way too much pressure for a young college student. If getting married is something that you really want but you are still single, do not worry.

The right person will come when the time is right. Just because you are not in a relationship right now does not mean you won’t be in the future or that you will never find someone, you will. In the meantime, focus on yourself and the right person will find you.

Do not compare yourself to other people who are getting engaged, you are not them. Be the best you, you can be.

Do not get caught up in this whole ring by spring thing.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
