7 Reasons To Buy An Apple Watch

I was skeptical at first, but I promise it will be totally worth it.

When the Apple Watch first came out, I was hesitant to buy it. I've always been a huge fan of Apple products, but this one just seemed unnecessary. Why did I need a watch that was identical to the phone I already had? It didn't make much sense to me. But as I saw more and more of my friends and family members purchasing them, I decided to give it a go and get one for myself. Ever since then, I've been a huge advocate for the Apple Watch, and here's why.

1. You can track your activity

I didn't realize how important it was to me to see how many calories I burned during a workout until I had something that made it so easy. All you have to do is tell the watch what type of workout you're doing, and it will track both your calories and your distance (if running/biking/etc.) . Not only does it give me the motivation to work out more, but it gives me a sense of achievement by seeing how far I've gone or how many calories I've burned.

2. You can check your messages and calls

Especially when I'm at work, I find I'm always missing calls and texts from people because it's hard to get to my phone. The Apple Watch will vibrate when you get a text or call, but you don't have to be disrespectful and take out your phone to see who's trying to reach you. It even gives you short, automated responses that you can use on the go.

3. You can find your phone

The watch has a bluetooth connection to your phone, which means that you can "beep" your phone to find out where it is. I'm always leaving my phone places, so being able to beep it to find it is a feature I use multiple times a day.

4. You can use Apple Pay

Sometimes, when I'm in a store and have a lot in my hands, it isn't always easy to grab my phone or wallet to get my credit card. The Apple Watch allows you to tap the card reader and instantly pay with your card, without even having to remove it from your bag. This has made my life easier in so many situations, and now almost all stores accept this method of payment.

5. It reminds me to breathe

Crazy days often leave me stressed and forgetting to take a minute to recuperate, and the Apple Watch literally has a feature to remind you to breathe. It tracks your heart rate during each breathing session too, so that you can see how much you really calmed down.

6. It allows you to see all of your notifications

Even though it doesn't have a camera itself and therefore can't use most social media platforms, it allows you to view all of the notifications you get on your phone. So if you're waiting for a Snapchat from that one special person, or you want to know when your Amazon order arrives, you don't have to stress about constantly having your phone on you.

7. There's tons of cool bands

If all of the cool technology behind the watch isn't enough to entice you, the awesome appearance should. With multiple different colors and sizes for the watch and hundreds of bands to choose from, the watch also has a style factor that can't be ignored.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
