Sometimes we tend to forget the most important thing that matters in our lives, which happens to be ourselves. We all tend to get caught up in the webbing that seems to be impossible to get out of. Most people say they have a great scapegoat to deal with these types of issues but most people hold it in. Imagining you have a bottle of soda, and you shake it up eventually it builds so much pressure it explodes. Humans can relate to this image; most people don’t have a way of liberating themselves from everyday responsibilities. Even the most well calm, cool and collected human being needs a way of feeling liberated.
Most adults get caught up in the nine to five phenomena, just like the rest of the American society. We forget even the most “superhuman” needs a little self-love every once in a while. Some people say that their jobs are their outlet and is what keeps their minds busy and active, while others argue that they are fighting to just get by. Most college students lose hours of sleep just trying to get that one paper that will score them 90% in a class.
I have experienced this myself, why do I have to sacrifice by well-being and my sanity in order to survive and fit with the rest of society. Most people would say that you just have to manage your time right and everything else will fall into place. How are we supposed to have family time, a social life, keep a personal relationship afloat, a job and an impeccable GPA. I often wonder how other people deal with these types of issues. The answer is quite simple, most people do not deal with these things. How can we? We only have 24 hours in a day, when most of the time It seems that there is not enough time to do everything we must.
What is the secret? How can all of us learn to juggle all of these responsibilities? When did happiness become a responsibility. Not too long ago I came across this family on YouTube, they consider themselves minimalists. These people can be called nomads, or as they like to say “we go were the wind takes us”. How amazing and liberating it must be to feel so free,to have real commitments to life and society, to feel that you can feel every oxygen molecule flow through your body.
I began to wonder; Would I be happy having their lifestyle? And I quickly answered my own question, I am happy living the way I do. Sometimes you have to step back and realize all of the blessings you have in your life. Yes, we have a lot to juggle, sometimes you just need to step back and breath. Analyzing yourself, and giving yourself a pep talk from time to time is what most people need. I am free, I can feel the oxygen flow through by entire being, the best thing about my life is that I get to be me.
