If there is any one thing that all human beings love, it's food. Whether it be dessert, brunch or lunch, everyone has their favorite meal and their favorite food. If everyone has their favorite food choices, they likely have a favorite restaurant as well! So, I took to my EIC Squad GroupMe (#SLAYY) and asked everyone involved what their favorite restaurants are. I knew I would get some diverse responses because all of us are from different states in different areas of the country! I even chipped in a few of my favorites based on places I've traveled to in the last five years or so! Here are our recommendations!
1. Waffle House in Wetumpka, Alabama
This recommendation was given by my fabulous Contributing Editor Alex. He said "They have the best hashbrown platter!" He also thinks this is a great restaurant for those nights when writer's block hits you during an all-nighter. I don't go to Waffle House that much, personally. But, if it's good for all-nighters, I may have to start going. :)
2. Boll Weevil Cafe and Sweetery in Augusta, Georgia
This recommendation was given by Will McCoy! He said "They have the best desserts in all of Augusta!" I could go for some desserts right now! Maybe a slice of chocolate pie or some cheesecake. The Yelp reviews are good for the most part with their desserts. However, with their regular food, the reviews were mixed and the negative ones consisted of seemingly bad service and apparently less than stellar tasting food. If I'm ever in the area, I'll probably give this place a try!
3. Hamburg Hot Bagels in Hamburg, New Jersey
This recommendation was given by Amanda! This restaurant is unique to Hamburg and seems really cozy just from looking at this picture. According to Amanda, "they have the best ham, egg and cheese bagels ever!" I love bagels. I just may have to take a special trip soon.4. Bayside American Cafe in Portland, Maine.
This recommendation was given by Ashley! She said that this restaurant has the best brunch in Portland, Maine! *cue the heart eyes emoji* By the looks of this picture, I think she's right. Honestly, I would probably eat everything on this plate in less than 15 minutes because this looks so good!! I've actually never been to this part of the country before but now I have a reason! Road trip anyone??
5. Ellen's Stardust Diner in New York City
Y'all. This restaurant is THE best. I went here the summer before my senior year of high school and all I can say is WOW. Seriously, if you ever find yourself in New York go here for lunch or dinner! It's such a fun place to be. There's a great atmosphere and great food. If you've ever been there, you know that every waiter and waitress goes around the restaurant dancing and singing and getting the people dining there to join in! It's seriously like getting a two for one deal: dinner and a show! Anyway, if you live in New York and haven't been here, have you really been living in New York. You won't regret going!
