Summer is here and this year brunch/trendy restaurants are the thing to do. For those looking for a place to go here a few of my favorites. There is a range of relaxed outside restaurants to fun places to go on a night out. Be prepared to take some cute pictures. Your Instagram/Snapchat followers will be jealous of your fabulous summer outings.

1. The Alchemist

Amazing food, even better coffee. The Alchemist is in Wilton Manors, Florida (Ft. Lauderdale). It is primarily outside with a small amount of table inside the restaurant. Other than the amazing coffee, they have coconut water and an assortment of tea's. Food wise, they have salad and their famous sliders.

2. Burrito San

It is a sushi burrito ... What more can you ask for? If this is not pure happiness, I do not know what is. Burrito San is in Miami, but even if you are not from the area it is worth the drive!

3. Louie Bossi

Louie Bossi is located in the heart of of downtown Ft. Lauderdale. This Italian restaurant has food that exceeds phenomenal. Not to mention it s adorable!

4. Boatyard

Boatyard is a nicer restaurant, but worth every dime. I have never ate anything that I did not like. Happy hour on Thursday's is also popular. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. all drinks are free and if you sign up early enough you can go on a boats & bubbles ride, where they take you on a boat ride with your cocktails.

5. The Le Tub Saloon

A bit of a change of pace, considering it is an old gas station in Hollywood. Not the most luxurious place, but super cool especially if you are craving a burger!

6. Baoli

Baoli, in Miami, is the perfect place for a ladies night out. Every Wednesday is themed 'My Boyfriend Is Out Of Town' where the restaurant turns into a club.

7. Della Bowls

A food trunk in Wynwood that could change a life. Healthy bowls that you can customize or eat their amazing creations. It is less than a mile from the Wynwood Walls so you can make a whole day out of it!

8. The Girls Strawberry Patch U Pic Delray

The best milkshakes you will ever have. Also, there is nothing more fun than strawberry picking on a beautiful sunny day!

9. YOLO

One of the most fun and young restaurants in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. It is all American food, accompanied by a great atmosphere and fun bar and lounge.

10. GG's Waterfront Bar and Grill

If you love to brunch as much as I do, this is the spot. Everything you could want and imagine on a Sunday brunch. GG's is in Hollywood, FL and has a relaxing ambiance with seafood that is out of this world!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
