Remember To Always Thank Your Body

When was the last time you thanked your body?

Every person in the world is unique in more ways than one. However, people often get into the habit of comparing themselves to others. It's a natural thing to do, almost everyone does it at some point in time. It's also natural to talk down to yourself every now and then, though some people do this more often than others. When this starts to happen, you need to learn how to talk yourself out of these thoughts, and start almost thanking your body for everything that it is.

Let me give you some examples to help you along.

First of all, let's just admire how your body never gives up on you. Ever. No matter what you put it through, it's still moving along, doing it's thing, so you're healthy and functioning right. You could treat your body absolutely awful for days, but it doesn't give up on you. Your heart keeps beating, your blood keeps flowing, and everything continues to regulate itself. It may be strained, but it never stops. Always thank your body for never giving up on you.

Going off of that, your body is very forgiving. Thank it for always forgiving you, even if you put it through unhealthy habits. I know I have put my body through some absolutely horrible things. It may have struggled during that period of time, but now it is healthier and stronger than it has ever been. It has been treating me great. Always thank your body for forgiving you.

As I stated before, everyone in the world is unique. Thank your body for making you special, and making you who you are. Your body is what houses your soul, and part of what makes you who you are. Your body is what helps you think, and helps you carry out your favorite activities. It is truly amazing how your body is one of the reasons that you are the amazing person that you are. Thank your body for making you the person that you are now; one of a kind.

I know I personally love to eat. Eating is a huge part of people's social lives, family lives and even culture. Your body does some incredible processes, so you are able to eat almost whatever you want. Thank your body for allowing you to eat wonderful food around friends, family and any other loved ones.

Without your legs, or your strength, you would not have been able to have any of the experiences that you have had throughout your life. Your legs allow you to travel and your eyes allow you to experience and see first hand the beauty of life. Your senses allow you to make memories and experiences. Thank your body for allowing you to always live your life to the fullest, no matter what may come in your way. Thank your body for your senses, which allow you to make memories that will last a lifetime.

I could name a million other reasons why your body is absolutely incredible. If you remember to thank your body, or at least name one thing you love about yourself, your view towards yourself will change forever.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
