Donald Trump: an infamous man, known for his controversial views, net worth and offensive words. He's sexist. He's racist. He contradicts himself all the time. In my opinion, he needs a trigger warning on every video of his speeches. He's rude and has absolutely no filter. As a more liberal-minded person, I disagree with most (if not all) of his views. One could even go so far as to say, I hate Donald Trump.
However, as much as I hate Donald Trump the Politician, I can't help but admire Donald Trump the Businessman, and here's why:
Donald Trump is successful. You have to give him that. He's a multi-billionaire, and he built his own empire, albeit with "a small loan of $1 million." He knows how to properly deal with his competitors so that he could potentially multiply his worth by about 4,000. That's pretty impressive! He dabbles a little in nearly every industry, building his wealth up through profit from jets to realty to casinos to books to even Trump Vodka, among other things. He slaps his name on anything he wants and somehow manages to make a business out of it.
Not many people can manage to do what he's done, and he's one of the few billionaires in the world, making him that much more unique. Granted, he was raised probably feeling entitled to everything, especially after asking for a loan of $1 million, and then proceeding to call it a "small" amount of money, but that's beside the point.
Not only has he managed to establish a large fortune from a small fortune, he's also a manipulative man. Certainly, the connotations of the word "manipulative" doesn't necessarily imply good qualities, but being a businessman, mastering the art of manipulation is the highest form of praise. Trump may be an awful person and an awful candidate for presidency, but I have to give him credit for being charming enough to not only make people buy into the goods and services that he sells, but also to get so many sheeple to follow him and stand for what he stands for. He's clearly good at sounding passionate about what he says, speaking his mind on national issues, and not being afraid to throw away his verbal filter. He's somehow managed to even get the Republican nomination, though it's questionable whether he deserves it more than any number of qualified candidates.
He knows how to say what people want to hear, and that ultimately is what every good politician should know how to do. He's amazing at rousing up his own personal mob. While other politicians are busy saying what people want to hear in a politically correct way, Trump is busy riling up the angry people and saying what they want to hear in a less dignified but better received way. By getting people angry with him and angry at him, he truly brings a new meaning to the phrase: "There's no such thing as bad publicity."
And as much as I love trash-talking Trump, I reluctantly admire him just the slightest bit because, truth be told, not many people can do what he's done and get away with it.
