Every girl dreams of meeting their fairy tale prince one day and riding off into the sunset, but what if you don't really know if that prince is the one guy for you? What if he's madly in love with you, but you have no feelings for him? This is when you're stuck between a rock and a hard place sweetie.
Recently, a friend of mine went through this situation. Her man is probably the one of the most understanding people around and a girl couldn't really ask for anything better. Except, she was. She wanted better, but she didn't know if better involved her boyfriend or if it meant she would journey off on her own and live her life. The whole situation is kind of fuzzy when you first hear it, but after a lot of venting sessions I've learned that not everything was as perfect on the inside as it seemed on the outside.
Couples fight. Couples bicker. HECK! Couples even break up and makeup in the same day, but this time it was different. My friend Amanda (name changed for privacy) is a rollercoaster - in a good and bad way. She has mood swings, but isn't bipolar. She has a vivid memory and fights for what she believes is right. She takes shit off of no one. Matthew, her boyfriend on the other hand is the polar opposite. He is calm, cool and collected. He never raises his voice and is extremely laid back in any situation. Complete and total polar opposites right here.
Anyways, recently their has been some trouble in the whole scheme of things. Lies have surfaced and fights have been going on for the last few weeks. The main issue is a cheating incident that happened not even a month into the relationship. Amanda is a strong person but at the same time, this news shatters someones world and makes all trust for a person disappear. Now the main issue is whether or not she will break up with him.
She's internally stuck between loosing the guy of her dreams and deciding that it's better to be alone and live her life. Trust is a hell of a thing to break and that was exactly what was done in this situation. After countless phone calls, coffee dates, and venting sessions, she finally made her decision. Obviously I've already shared enough so I won't spoil the ending an tell you all what she decided. But throughout the whole situation, she turned into the man she wanted to be with so bad. Even though trust was broken she remained calm and never raised her voice. She was stuck between two life changing decisions and hopefully this time the universe worked in her favor. Every girl wishes she could ride off into the sunset with her prince charming, but is it really worth it? Is it worth changing yourself for one person? Being stuck between two harsh and life altering decisions may not always be in the form a relationship, but that of switching schools, quitting your job, changing you major, or even as simple as buying a pet. All in all, when you're the one stuck between your own rock and a hard place, think it out. Make the right decision because it actually counts in the end.
