Deciding to stay at home to read a book instead of going to a 'lit' party can seem a bit strange to a lot of people; so can preferring to talk to your cat instead of other humans. What kind of person would prefer a book over a party, and a cat over a human? The answer is simple: an introvert. Although introverts consist of about 50% of the world's population, they are easily the most misunderstood. Perhaps it is their almost 'shy' complex, or their avid staring that throws people off. It's the small things that make people utterly confused by them. I have compiled a list of my favorite and most relatable introvert quotes that many of us introverts can relate to...

1. “Please kindly go away, I’m introverting.” ~ Beth Buelow

After being around so many people, I just want to be alone for a while. Excuse my rudeness, but go away.

2. "Introverts crave meaning so party chitchat feels like sandpaper to our psyche.” ~ Diane Cameron

I don't care about how your day was, or who you brought to this party, tell me all your deepest secrets and regrets and then let's be friends.

3. "I want to be alone...with someone else who wants to be alone." ~ Dimitri Zaik

There's nothing better than sitting next to somebody who wants to be next to you, but doesn't want to talk to you.

4. "In terms of, like, instant relief, cancelling plans is like heroine." ~ John Mulaney

That was close, I almost had to do something today with people.

5. "Solitude matters and for some people it's the air they breathe." ~ Susan Cain

Excuse me as I escape to the land of my head, to a place nobody can find me.

6. "I don't hate people, I just feel better when they aren't around." ~ Charles Bukowski

My everyday conversations go like this:

Me: "Will there be people there?"

Person: "Yes..."

Me: "Then no."

7. "'Come out of your shell' - that noxious expression which fails to appreciate that some animals naturally carry shelter everywhere they go and some humans are just the same." ~ Susan Cain

I don't want to come out of my shell, it's warm and snuggly in here.

8. "You may think I'm small, but I have a universe inside my mind." ~ Yoko Ono

Many worlds of thought exists within the molecules of my brain. Every moment of silence is a new moment for imagination to occur.

9. "Sometimes I just shut down and don't talk to anybody for days. It's nothing personal." ~ Sonya Tecla

My batteries have died. I'll be ready to socialize again in a couple weeks.

10. "I restore myself when I'm alone." ~ Marilyn Monroe

I can already feel my social meter being recharged!

11. "Introverts are capable of acting like extroverts for the sake of work they consider important, people they love, or anything they value highly." ~ Susan Cain

Many people tell me that I am an extrovert through and through. That just shows how much they truly know me! I may seem open and talkative while doing the things I love, but I always have to recharge at the end!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
