It's that time of year – recruitment season. Every sorority girl came back a week early before class started to prep for this important two-weekend-long event. Recruitment causes a wide range of emotions from elation to exhaustion. The days are long, but in the end it's all worth it as you get to welcome a ton of new members to your chapter. I've used "The Office" to help explain what recruitment is really like.

Your recruitment chair has pumped you all up and prepared you as best as possible. You're excited...

... You're stressed out too.

But you're also excited to show off how amazing and wonderful your sisterhood is.

You found some stylish outfits for every day of recruitment and can't help but feel super-confident.

It's Welcome Day, which basically means one thing — standing on your house's staircase singing the "Go Greek" song as loud as possible and probably terrifying the PNMs.

If you're sometimes awkward, like me, starting conversation with PNMs can be weird, and you might accidentally ask some odd questions.

Or alternatively, the PNM you're talking to might bring up a topic you don't know much about, but you're really trying to understand.

One of the worst situations is when someone brings up something awkward, and you have no idea how to respond.

It's unfortunate, but sometimes you just don't know what to talk about and run out of conversation topics.

But at some point you might get lucky and meet a girl, or several, who is your rush crush. You can't wait to tell your sisters about her and really hope to see her again.

And when girls you love return to your house you want them all as Littles. All of them.

But your rush crush(es) might not end up coming back, which breaks your heart a little bit.

After talking to PNMs and running around all day, you are incredibly tired. Probably the most tired you've ever been. But the day isn't over once the PNMs leave, and you've had enough.

Though you are exhausted, recruitment helps bring you even closer to your sisters and create bonds with sisters you weren't that closer to before.

Then you get to the end. Bid day is one of the best days of the year. You get to welcome your rho gamma sisters home and you get all your awesome new members. It's truly a special time and one huge party.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
