Girl flirting. We have all taken part in this silly-sounding, yet very important part of the sorority recruitment process. Last year was my first time going through recruitment as a sister, and this spring will be my second year partaking in Greek life’s most hectic time of year. During recruitment, sisters are literally flirting with multiple girls each round. We want PNMs, or potential new members, to feel welcome in our chapter to see what our sisterhood is all about. So we flirt! Just like being on a first date with a guy, women take many careful steps to perfect the art of flirting, but in a sorority sister’s case -- girl flirting.
Here are just a few steps that will help you perfect your girl flirting technique while partaking in recruitment this season!
Step 1. Smiling, smiling, and more smiling.
Just think Elle Woods. Show 'em those pearly whites, ladies!
Step 2: Primping.
Your hair and makeup better be on fleek for those girls.
Step 3: The lingo.
Step 4: Impressive singing and dancing.
Kill those skit round dance moves, T Swift style.
Step 5: Compliments.
Sincere compliments are the real key to a PNM’s heart.
Step 6: The click.
When you and a PNM are in sync, you will just know!
Step 7: Keep your cool at all times.
Step 8. Heartfelt goodbyes.
Show that PNM some love!
After endless hours of girl flirting, all you can do is hope all the smiles, caffeine, jumping, and cheering paid off.

This is one of the happiest days of the year filled with smiles, hugs, and so much excitement. You helped so many women find their home in your chapter. Girl flirting may sound a bit silly, but the more you flirt and immerse yourself in recruitment, the more you will click with those PNMs and help them fall in love with your unique and special chapter.
