Beware of Darkness' — "Muthaf*cka" & "Dope"
I started listening to Beware of Darkness when their song, "Howl," debuted on YouTube and I was randomly looking for music. Their name lured me in. Both these songs has a dancing in the club vibe that makes commutes more bearable.
Drake — "Pop Style"
Normally I hear Drake’s songs on the radio and vibe to them. With "Pop Style" I was at work at I walked into the kitchen. It played like an anthem when a cool kid walks in with sunglasses on in the building.
Panic! At The Disco — "Victorious," "Don't threaten me with a good time," and "Emperor's new clothes"
I've been listening to Panic! At The Disco since “Nine in the Afternoon.” I found "Emperor’s New Clothes" on YouTube. This lead me to go onto Spotify and listen to the whole album ("Death Of A Bachelor") and these are my favorite songs from the album!
Rihanna — "Needed Me," "Desperado," "Consideration (featuring SZA)"
Rihanna’s "Work" was blasted on the radio all over the world. So, like "Death Of A Bachelor," I listened to the whole album.
Although, "Work" is highly publicized, these songs deserve to be as big. They are just as melodic — if not more — and catchy.
Ellie Golding — "I Do What I Love"
I was watching “Black Ink Crew” — don't judge me — and when one of the artists was on screen, (I think it was Dutchess), this song was playing the background. This song caught my attention right away. After playing it three times, I downloaded it, so I can listen to it on my way to work and back home.
Peaches (featuring Nick Zinner) — "Bodyline"
I was watching "Orphan Black" — which is my favorite show — and this song came on. It's a club show that had strong performance appeal on the show. Just like Ellie Golding’s song I downloaded it and listened it for the whole day.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis (featuring Idris Elba and Anderson . Paak) — "Dance off"
This song came on MTV music — my go to for current music — both the music video and the lyrics stuck with me on a party vibe.
Mariah Lynn — "Once Upon A Time"
This song was on MTV, too, and I love how Mariah Lynn owns her sexuality in a stated and profound way.
Sia (featuring Sean Paul) — "Cheap Thrills"
I found this song on MTV...OK, let’s assume that's the only way I find music. Sean Paul was a big part of my childhood and I love how much his sound changed and how it vibed with Sia.
P!nk — "Just Like Fire (From 'Alice Through The Looking Glass')"
I have always been a fan of P!nk because of her larger than life attitude and performance out of the world.
This song just proves that she still has it. Plus I love all the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack songs.
Statik Vision — "Poison City"
My friend from high school, Gabriel, is the drummer of Statik Vision. Their sound is different, edgy and they have a great vibe — live and on audio!
Nick Jonas (featuring Tove Lo) — "Close"
This is another song I found on MTV. I heard Nick Jonas made a comeback to music so I was interested because he was a part of my childhood with "Camp Rock." His new sound is more electric heartbreak.
Iggy Azalea — "Team"
Azalea’s music has had me since "Work" was released, but this song is different and more heartfelt to me. She pulls back a layer and shows more of herself.
Lady Leshurr — "Lukatar"
Lady Leshurr is a British rapper, mostly on YouTube. She is a political and trendy kind of rapper. She's best known for her Queen's Speech series of freestyle raps.
Era Istrefi — "Bonbon"
I found this song on YouTube. Although the lyrics are not in English — which I later got the translation to the words — the beat and words are catchy.
Bia — "PSA"
I am a huge Bia fan since she was Sisterhood of Hip Hop. This song is a reflection of her, as well as an explanation of herself and her struggles.
