6 Reasons Why You Should Go To The Gym

The gym. To some, it is the most intimidating place. To others, it feels like home. Whether you are a newbie just starting out, or you've been going to the gym for awhile now, you should make the gym your best friend. You'll feel great (after your soreness goes away), and you'll be improving your body and getting into great shape!

1. The gym will always be there for you.

Whether you are stressed out, sad, angry, or even in a great mood, the gym will always be there for you. You can go and work out your frustrations in your work out, and it's like the gym is "listening to you". You can workout alone, or you can workout with a partner. Find what works for you and go with it!

2. It helps you get in shape.

The gym is the best place to go and get your butt in shape. It has all of the equipment to help you and is available to you at any time. The staff are always ready to help if you have any questions about a certain machine or anything else.

3. The gym is not a place others go to judge each other.

A lot of people are afraid to go to the gym because they think that the other gym goers are going to watch them and judge them for doing something wrong. That is a load of crap. We are all there to improve ourselves, and we are all learning new things in the gym every time we go. Don't be afraid, get in there and start learning! If you're a person who judges people at the gym, just know that you suck and you should probably stop it.

4. You can meet new people.

The gym is a great place to meet new friends. If you see someone doing a particular workout, and you want to learn how, wait until they are finished and ask them! Yeah, it's awkward, and most of us have this fear of approaching people, but just do it! You can potentially make a new friend, and even find a workout partner who can teach you a lot! Ask someone for help if you need someone to spot you, anything! Just don't be afraid to approach someone.

5. The more you go, the more you will notice results.

The more you make a trip to the gym, the more you will notice your results. It does take awhile to begin to see your results, but once you do, you will become even more motivated! You want to keep going, and keep getting stronger! Whether your goal is to get stronger, more toned, or lose weight, having a workout plan and frequenting the gym keeps you on track and working towards your goal.

6. You gain confidence.

I don't know if this is just me, but when I am at the gym, I feel my most confident. I feel strong and damn near invincible (okay, not really, but really). When I leave the gym, sometimes I feel like strutting out like that gif! I am not afraid to flex in the mirrors at the gym anymore, I feel good about my results! Everyone should feel the way. The gym should make you feel like your best and strongest self. Don't be afraid to let your confidence show, but don't be cocky about it!

If you try the gym thing, and you find yourself dreading a workout, and hating every minute you spend at the gym, then maybe it's just not for you. There's nothing wrong with that! If you find yourself loving the gym thing, and you're pumped during every workout and always excited for the next, then the gym is definitely your thing. Try it out, don't be afraid to try new things, otherwise, you will never know if you like it or not! The gym has become a very big part in my life recently, and it feels like home to me. I hope others try the gym out and find their home there as well!

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
