Reasons Why I Love Kingdom Hearts

Here's a small list of the general reasons why I love Kingdom Hearts.

This article has been a long time coming - why I love Kingdom Hearts. For the horribly uninformed, Kingdom Hearts is only one of the best rpgs in existence. It's about a boy going on an epic journey saving various worlds, based off Disney movies/shows, from darkness while trying to find his best friends.

1. Um excuse me, Disney and fighting? I am here for it.

Any game that lets me have Donald and Goofy as my companions (more so Goofy) is a game I can get behind. I live for cartoon violence. I love Disney. It only makes sense that I enjoy those two together.

2. The trippy yet engaging story line.

This game causes the gears in my brain to turn in the most pleasant manner. I always have more questions than answers and not from a bad story, but rather a good one. Regardless of what happens, it always feels like a cliffhanger because I always want more.

3. You get to fight alongside Mickey.

Mickey. He is a literal King in this game - the real MVP that we all deserve and should desire to have as our constant ally. I didn't know Mickey watching my back was a thing I needed until this game.

4. The characters

All the recurring characters are really easy to get attached to emotionally. Not necessarily in the way that you love them all, but more so that you feel some type of way. Like, the viliains you are meant to dislike...you really dislike. The same goes for the heroes as you tend cheer them on a lot (except Sora...sometimes).

5. My brother

I grew up watching my brother and cousin playing this game. The game actually scared me as a kid because I thought the Nobodies were super creepy. But that didn't stop me because all my favorite Disney characters were in there! Plus, anything my brother did or played back then was cool.

6. My best friend

Kingdom Hearts was how I made the jump from friend to best friend...with my best friend. I watched my brother play kingdom hearts when I was really young. I didn't actually play the game myself until 7th grade at this girl's house. I knew she loved Disney and told her that it was the perfect game for her. She already had the game, but could never pass a certain part and stopped. I said say no more and the rest was history. She actually came up to campus this weekend just so we could play the newest game together as per our tradition.

7. The Music

Just hearing the start-up music of this game causes me to tear up - just hearing the music in general. It makes me nostalgic. I always know what sort of scenes are coming up based off what theme they play. But it is still chilling nonetheless. And it never gets old.

8. Aqua

I know I kind of covered this with characters, but I honestly think Aqua is important enough to get her own place on this list. Everybody is talking about how there are no games with strong female leads. While there could be more, Aqua is definitely one of them. She is also my favorite character in the whole entire series! Help. Her.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
