8 Reasons We All Love Weddings

Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue! Weddings are the most diverse and collaborative events. In the United States alone, an average of 72 billion dollars a year is spent on weddings! Why? Because we all love them, and here are the reasons why we do.

1. Waiting to see the groom's face when his bride walks down the isle.

We all love to watch the groom just break down because he finally gets to marry the girl of his dreams. Oh, and, that white dress is pretty easy on the eyes.

2. Hearing the vows.

It is definitely possible to see what kind of couple the bride and groom are through their vows. Will they be funny, sappy or traditional? Either way they are just so stinking cute!

3. Free food.

It is best to keep our expectations for wedding food low because we all know that wedding food is either the worst or the best we have had, but it will always be free.

4. First Dance.

We all love to watch the new couple of the night so happy and engaged in each other through a deep and intimate interaction. We get to experience a little piece of their bond along side of them. Plus, if we are lucky, they have choreographed something more than just a slow dance!

5. Father-Daughter dance.

During this we all catch a little glimpse into the bride's childhood and her relationship with her father. This dance is always so heartfelt and beautiful. We also all get to see a part of her groom, because he is most likely very similar to her father.

6. Best man and maid of honor speeches.

We love to hear about the couple's stories, and who better to tell us these stories than their best friends that experienced everything with them! We always want to see them as individuals as well, and these speeches are the first time within the wedding that we get to hear this.

7. Dessert.

I know, I know, more food. We would all be lying if we said that we did not love the free food, and dessert is obviously the best.

8. Dancing.

We all wait for the time that we get to get up, and dance the night away and celebrate with the couple!

No matter what kind of wedding that you attend, it is always quite enjoyable. They are beautiful ceremonies that are packed with love, purpose and commitment!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
