Life can be pretty crazy and what feels unbareable at times, but here's your reminder that it is in fact okay to take a day off. Your mental health is more important than any test, project or deadline. Everybody always has their own things going on and honestly growing up it can be hard to balance everything at once, even as an adult it still seems like a process to find time and yourself again. Here are some things to help you regroup:
1. Go For A Drive:It can be something that simple! Sometimes all you need is a good back road, a full tank of gas and some music to find serendipity and hidden scenery. The open road is a great place to free your mind of gather up your thoughts.
2. Find A Good Concert In Town:
Haven't had time to see that band or singer you've been dying to see? *cough cough* "Sorry, I'm sick" Live a little. Go out for that night you will never forget. Beats sitting behind a computer screen you've been doing for the past.. Well forever. Make some friends, take some photos and forget that life is a thing for a few hours. There is no better feeling then getting lost in the music with hundreds or even thousands of people who share that same interest as you do.
3. Sporting Event:
Your favorite team is in town and what did you say?! Your favorite player just hit the game winning homerun yesterday and he's looking to do it again?! You must see this. Chances are you can find cheap game tickets online to almost any sporting event and who cares if you're up in the nosebleed section for that game winning homerun, you were there.. Everyone else was drained at work - haha.
4. Beach Day:
Who doesn't love the beach or heading to the water? There most likely is some place to chill out and catch up with nature around you. The beach is a great place to make you realize just how entirely small your problems are. People tend to think the world revolves around them and their problems are huge but sit back and realize you are one in a billion people. A humbling place for a day off.
5. Historical Sight Seeing:
History surrounds you no matter where you live. Get out and explore what made you who you are today. You can never run out of places to go.
Listed above may only be a few things you could do but there is so much more out there. It's important to put yourself first at times and it is also completely okay. Free your mind and don't work yourself into the ground.
