Why Fall is the Best Season Ever

About 40% of people say fall is their favorite season. If you've ever had doubts about why, here are some of the many reasons why you should love the season of red leaves and pumpkin spice lattes.

1. You can start wearing flannels.

Bring out the flannels, boots, scarves, and hats that have been stashed in the corner of your closet since summer. It's the perfect weather to really put together an outfit. On the plus side, you won't be sweating profusely, and you also don't have to bundle yourself with layers of jackets...yet.

2. Seasonal candles have never smelled better.

Let's be real here. Bath and Body Works has THE BEST fall candles. Pretty much everything is pumpkin, cinnamon, apple or latte scented. But who's complaining? I wouldn't hate to have my entire house smell like an apple cider donut.

3. HALLOWEEN! DUH!

One of the best times of the year is when you get to dress up like something else-anything else, AND get free candy. Trick-or-treating with your friends is an awesome way to get a whole loot of candy that can last you for the whole year. Along with that, Jimmy Kimmel always has his hilarious annual "I told my kids I ate all their Halloween Candy" Youtube Video.

4. The only time acceptable to eat Turducken

A chicken in a duck in a turkey. Need I say more? Better get your loosest sweatpants ready, and bring on all the pumpkin pies, cranberry sauces, and mashed potatoes. Thanksgiving, I'm coming for you.

5. Sales sales sales

Black Friday is coming to stores near you! Be sure to have a "strategy" with your friends as you maneuver around your favorite stores on the busiest night (or day) of the year. Will you camp outside the mall? Or will you avoid the lines to shop online? Better yet, will you be hitting Walmart?

6. Baked goods

It's a wonderful time to put your oven to good use. From peach pies to blueberry cobblers, there's so many treats and dishes that you can make. Whether you go from scratch or from a store-bought mix, cooking is one of the best forms of DIY's out there- what you make is edible! (hopefully)

7. Take outdoorsy pictures

If you love photography, or just want to add some cool landscapes to your Instagram, grab your phone and head out the door! Fall foliage makes for a great natural backdrop.

8. The coziness is real

Fall is such a romantic season! It's the perfect time to play songs like sweater weather (you'll probably be wearing one), and just sit outside and relax with your friends

9.You start to think about Christmas

Once you start feeling chilly and putting on more layers, you can't help but think about the upcoming holidays. Christmas will be here in two months! Well... better start planning for the winter now.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
