Going off to college, you know that you're going to miss your parents, especially your mom, but you don't really know how much. I honestly didn't realize how great my mother was until I had to attempt to do half the things she did for me by myself. Since Mother's Day is coming up, I thought I share all the best parts about finally going home to my mommy.
1. Cafeteria food sucks. Mommies feed you.
College cafeteria food is even worse than high school cafeteria food. No really, it’s possible.
2. Laundry is literally the worst thing in the word.
I have never hated doing anything as much as I hate laundry; it’s worse than the dentist.
3. You never know what you need until you’re walking around Wal-Mart with your Mom.

4. No one will listen to you complain like your mother will.
My mother has listened to me whine about anything from homework to stubbing my toe and she’s done it faithfully and without judgment.
5. Mom hugs are the best after a stressful day.
Or after a stressful week of finals.
6. You get sick a lot in college, like a lot a lot. Mom’s make soup and have medicine.
Dorm buildings are basically a breeding ground for illnesses, thankfully there’s a home remedy for everything.
7. Seeing your Mom happy makes you happy.
I actually miss arguing with her over cleaning my room.
8. When you move out, you’re basically God in your mom’s eyes.
Whenever I call or come home, I’m untouchable, take that younger and more adorable siblings.
9. Your mom will love you no matter what.
She thinks I’m cool even when I look like I just got done spending a century buried six feet under.
10. She’s got all your clothes that you didn’t bring to college.
You don’t have room for all your shoes in that tinny, tiny closet.
11. She can buy you new clothes.
Five words: Victoria’s Secret seven for 27.
12. She'll clean your room.
Or at the very least you’ll clean it to avoid the lecture.
13. She’ll always help you when you need it.
Someone has to remind me to pay my bill and call the dentist for me. I’m not a real adult yet after all.
14. She knows what to say to make you feel better.
One time she told me to take a nap. Best advice ever.
15. Your mom put up with you for 18+ years and she deserves a little love.
18 years plus nine months in the womb, and let's face it; I’m kind of a brat. So thanks, Mom, for not ditching me on the side of the road. I appreciate it.
