Top five reasons why snow is awesome.

It’s that time of the year finally, finally snow has fallen and everyone have instantly forgot how to drive, or makes you question if they even took drivers education…and passed. Snow is awesome. Really it is, let me list a few reasons why it is so great.

1.Christmas

The majority of people always say they want snow on Christmas, or it doesn’t feel like Christmas without snow on the ground. People like to wake up on Christmas morning, look outside and see the snow falling while they remain in their pajamas and prepare for a nice long lazy day with family.

2. Snowboarding/skiing

It is fantastic, and it gives people something to look forward to aside from snow on Christmas. It is nice and fun to have an activity that involves a lot of snow.

3. Food

Delicious soups, chilies and grilled cheese with tomato soup is the best thing on this planet when outside is covered in snow. Think about it, you get a nice hot bowl of soup you then walk by the window where it's cold and snowy on your way to sit on your cozy warm and comfy spot on the couch while watching a movie or TV show.

4. It is beautiful

I can’t tell you the number of times I have stopped and just looked around and took in all the wonderful sights, from downtown areas to countryside landscapes. From looking out at night and seeing how the snow somewhat has a blueish glow to it due the moon and the stars to the morning sunrise where the snow glistens everywhere it lays.

5. People’s good hearts

One of my favorite things about snow is in most cases it brings out the kind hearts in people, even someone you would never expect to do a good deed goes ahead and surprises you. What I am talking about is people whose cars end up in ditches and minor accidents. I have been late for work countless times because I spent time pulling over and helping people out of ditches. It is the best thing in the world, I feel, when you help someone, and they are grateful and even certain times give you a hug. I remember one of my friends and I went into a ditch out in the country, and we had no idea how we were going to get the car out of the ditch. Someone we did not expect to stop and help showed up, and I will never forget what he said, “No thanks needed; this is why I am out now. Looking for people who need help.” Best thing ever.

Snow brings a lot of con’s, and I understand why some people do not like it, but for those who do like it and those on the fence these are some good reasons why snow is great and why some people love it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
