It's clear to see that the Pokemon Go app is becoming the most popular and successful mobile game ever, if it isn't already. Many people are attracted to the virtual reality aspect of the game, many people like that it takes them back to their favorite childhood pass-time, and there's also many people that just want to see what all the hype is about. Whatever it is that is pulling people to this app, it is very effective and it is taking over the lives of so many young people and even adults. And no, "taking over lives" is not an exaggeration. But not to worry, as it's taking over peoples' lives, it's also making them easier. I've rounded up the 5 reasons why Pokemon Go makes life so much easier.
1. You finally have the inspiration you've always wanted to get out and live a more active lifestyle
A lot of people these days complain about kids having so much technology around them that they never play outside anymore. People also bring up the argument that social media is taking up so much time in people's lives that they should put the phone down and go out and actually explore the world they live in and make deeper connections with people. Well obviously, the kids have spoken and they are not willing to back away from technology anytime soon. Thank goodness for Pokemon Go, because now kids can be excited to go outside into the big beautiful world and explore their phone screens! Who needs to enjoy the outdoors when you can enjoy some nice, virtual green grass and gray roads? And as a bonus, since the app shows you exactly where you're going and where everything is, you never have to lift your head up from your phone! How much easier could it get? To live a more active lifestyle, all you have to do is walk outside with your phone in your hand and your eyes glued to it. Not literally glued, of course, but you get the point.
2. You never have to worry about finding something to talk about with friends/a date/significant other
If you're like me, you may struggle at times to keep a conversation going or to even start a good conversation. If that's you, then this app will make your life so much easier! Since the app came out, I've noticed at social gatherings that Pokemon Go is the talk of the party. It's the first topic of choice in any meetup or gathering. Thank goodness, we no longer have to try to find a meaningful talk point that helps us get to know a person or learn about how things are going in his or her life. All you have to do now to connect "deeply" with people is talk about the Pokemon you caught that day and which ones you evolved. I'm pretty sure strong relationships can be built on this stuff. It hasn't been around long enough to prove that, but just based off of conversations I've observed, people really get to know a lot about how much a person likes and plays this game. You know all the important stuff in life.
3. Dreaded family road-trips (or long car rides) are now actually worth-while
Long car rides aren't everyone's favorite. Most people just want to get where they're going. Now, you can actually gain something from riding in the car. Since bonding with your family and taking in new scenery isn't good enough, the app is here to make these trips a whole lot easier to get through. All you have to do is pull up Pokemon Go on your phone and stare at it while ignoring the people and places around you. So simple! Even quick trips can be exciting! Especially if you have a friend in the passenger seat catching Pokemon for you on your phone while you drive (since no one uses the app while they're driving...obviously).
4. You can finally make your girlfriend (or boyfriend) happy by taking them on one of those romantic couple's walks she (or he) has always wanted to go on with you.
Let's face it, most guys (and some girls) just have no interest in going on a romantic walk as a couple. This app is seriously magic because it will make you WANT to go on one of these walks with your significant other. Finally, the two of you can go outside and walk together around the park or down the beach and the best part is, you'll have an excuse not to hold her hand because how else would you catch all the Pokemon? Boom, argument avoided. And throwback to number 2 on this list, you don't even have to have the dreaded conversations about "us" and "the future" and your lives in general, and all of that lovey-dovey stuff. You can just give her (or him) the play-by-play of how your Pokemon chase is going. Sounds like a romantic win-win to me.
5. You don't have to worry about missing out on certain sights, experiences or conversations
The reason you don't have to worry about missing out on those things is because most everyone else is also missing out on those things. Social media and smartphones started the whole "face-down" trend and now the Pokemon Go app is re-enforcing it. I took a walk downtown today and of all the people I passed in just under an hour, only five of them weren't staring directly down to the floor at their phones. I mean this app is really a game changer. Just as arguments started to come out that social media is ruining social and face-to-face relationships, as well as blocking people from actually experiencing the places around them, Pokemon Go comes in and pushes all of those arguments aside, and even attracts more people to stare at their phones all day so that no one ever has to worry about missing out on social relationships or exciting places because no one is being social anyway and no one is experiencing exciting places even if they are at an exciting place. So yes, you may still be missing out, but it's okay because everyone else is too. And you know, if everyone's doing it, it must be cool.
As you can see, this app is making lives easier on the daily. If you don't have the app but you've been considering it, I hope that this article helps you with your decision and brings to light some of the things that are important to you. If you already have the app then you are well on your way to an easier life. If the game brings you happiness and fulfillment, then keep playing it. But if I can give any piece of advice to you and your gaming, it would be to please play wisely (don't play while you're driving and don't meander into unfamiliar areas) and PLEASE don't forget about the life you have outside of the app's virtual reality. Because the reality is, the app isn't reality. The Pokemon aren't real, they're cartoon characters, and there is a whole, big, beautiful world full of beautiful people just a head-tilt away.
