"So are y'all like a thing?", "Are y'all talking?", "Is that guy your boyfriend?", "Come on now there has to be something going on you're not telling us."

These are questions that every girl gets asked if she has a best friend that's a boy. Having a guy best friend can be a tricky situation for college, high school or just any age lady. Some people will think you're hooking up (I know crazy right), some people will think he's not into girls, and some people will just not know what to think of this mixed gender friendship that they just cant wrap their minds around. Here are some things I've come to realize that come with having a guy bestie.

1. You have a built in safe date for EVERYTHING!

If you're anything like me, procrastinate, and let dates slip your mind, your guy best friend is the perfect date for a last minute event. If you're talking to a boy, but not to that "level" of letting people know what's going on in your love life, call your best friend. If you simply just want to have a good time with a friend, call him. Me and my guy best friend have a understanding; I'll go to your functions if you can go to mine. They honestly make the best formal/date party/ awkward family gatherings a lot better!

2. People are going to think you're a couple (lol, jk)

Having a guy best friend definitely has it's pros and cons. Between the two of you, you know where your friendship stands, but everyone else thinks there is something else going on. People are going to say that you're hooking up, some say you're both in love but just haven't admitted it to each other. People just don't understand what they aren't a part of sometimes. and that's OK. I know if me and my best friend were together someone would die and it wouldn't be me.

3. There is, however, a time where you will mentally put them as a back.

Even if you don't see your guy best friend as a potential love interest, there will be a time where in your head under certain circumstances you'd be OK with being with them. You know total logical situations. but then reality sits in and you silently will pray, "Dear Lord, I hope that never happens because I just don't think I can even".

4. Sometimes they know you better than you know you.

Guys see things WAY differently than girls do. Sometimes they can tell something is wrong with you before your girlfriends know something is wrong. Either it be a tone in your voice, not using your usual emoji, or just something just being off, they can tell something is up. They know how to cheer you up. From a goofy Snapchat to "Dude, get over it and come watch The Office and have a beer". They know that life can suck and sometimes you just need your best friend.

5. It will be one of your more difficult friendships.

It's true boys and girls are just different. We are wired differently. This seems to be where a lot of miscommunication, arguments, and frustration come with friends of the opposite sex, but it's OK. They see life differently than you do and sometimes you NEED IT! So keep on with the jokes they’ll never understand; just throw some side eyes when they start talking about how hot one of your friends is.

All in all, a best friend is a best friend for a reason. So here’s to the girls with boy besties. Here’s to the girls that get your office, Batman, or sports humor. You’ll be the girl with inside scoop with all things boy. Not every guy/girl relationship turns into something else so here are the Monica and Joey, Lucas and Haley Scott, Meredith and Karevs of the world.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
