The Fourth of July is definitely one of the best parts about living in America. Between the fireworks, long weekend, and barbecue parties, there is so much to love about this summer holiday. It is also a day where we remember to be thankful for those who have served our country and have paid the price in order for us to celebrate such a great holiday. Here are the top seven reasons why the Fourth of July is one of the best holidays.
1. It's during the summer
Summer time is the best time of the year. It's sunny, school is out, and it's watermelon season. It's the most carefree time of the year and it's always a good day to go to the beach, rain or shine.
2. Red white & blue everything
It's the one day of the year when you can be obnoxiously patriotic in everything you do. Want to decorate your whole house in red white and blue? You can do it. Want to wear an american flag print blazer? Go for it. The world is your red white and blue oyster on the Fourth of July.
3. BARBECUE
The most beautiful of american foods. Ribs, chicken, hamburgers, and hot dogs all taste a million times better when cooked on a grill. Nothing quite compares to having a barbecue on a summer afternoon especially on the Fourth of July.
4. Fireworks
The Fourth of July is one of the few times of the year where it is acceptable to set off explosives in your driveway. Fireworks light up the sky and are definitely one of the prettiest parts of the night.
5. Pool/beach parties
Who doesn't love a good beach party? Hanging out on the beach or by the pool is a good time in it self, but when you add all the perfection of the Fourth of July, it makes it a hundred times more enjoyable.
6. We get to celebrate our freedom
Land of the free and the home of the brave. We get to celebrate our freedom however we want and we get to set off fireworks and be super patriotic for a day.
7. It's during watermelon season
If you don't love watermelon then you are wrong. This is one of the most prime summer fruits and the Fourth of July would not be complete without eating a ton of watermelon.
The Fourth of July is one of the best holidays America has to offer. Being overly and ridiculously patriotic for a day is always a good time and everyone loves a good barbecue. If there's one thing to look forward to every summer, it definitely has to be celebrating the Fourth of July.
