Being described as an extroverted introvert can be frightening to some people. While in reality, many people would unknowingly describe themselves as one.
An introvert can be described as someone who socializes easily, but prefers not to. Then again, an introvert can be extremely shy and avoid social situations at all costs.
An extrovert can be known as very outgoing, essentially, a social butterfly.
However, in some cases, one can be considered an extroverted introvert. An extroverted introvert enjoys being social and getting together with friends, however, they most definitely need their alone time.
How to know if you could be considered an extroverted introvert:
You notice that your friends are constantly searching for plans to consume the majority of their days. To you, it seems unrealistic to spend every moment of your day with someone else. You find yourself avoiding texts and calls without even realizing. There are some days when you prefer to be alone. Spending time in bed watching Netflix or reading is more appealing than socializing.
You are sometimes described as the quiet one in your group of loud, outgoing friends. At first you can come off as shy, but once someone gets to know you, you will open up and become one of the most rewarding friendships they have. It's cliche, but it's true.
You really do go out and socialize quite often, you often do not regret it either. However, you sometimes have those nights when your friends convince you to go out after a long battle of "why you would regret it" and "come on, don't be lame." You end up giving in and going out, but once the idea of staying in was prompted in your mind, you become unable to shake it. In the end, you most likely had a horrible night and regretted every second of not being in your bed.
You find joy out of doing little things alone. For example, running errands at the mall, working out and most importantly, going out to eat. It is a rewarding sensation to eat a meal in a public place alone. Realizing that you don't care what others think of you yet enjoying peace and quiet while eating.
You find yourself judging situations very easily. Once you have arrived at a party or crowded area you begin wondering who you will talk to and when the appropriate time to leave is. Sometimes this results in a resting bitch face which will occasionally be noticed by others.
Overall, everyone is different. The beauty of it is that every personality is shaped differently which makes everyone unique in their own way. Whether you are in an introvert, extrovert, or extroverted introvert, you will always be special in your own way.
