Troye Sivan's "Youth" is one of those songs that you don't know you're addicted to until you find yourself humming the melody and smiling at the thought of the lyrics. Brilliantly written and supported by a catchy melody, it perfectly conveys the essence of a carefree teenage spirit while simultaneously being a bluntly honest declaration of love -- of any kind of love. It's happy, addictive, makes you want to dance and smile, and was the song that made me fall in love with Troye Sivan. Last week, after much deliberation and teasing, Troye Sivan released the "Youth" music video and managed to beautifully translate the sense of teenage urgency and ecstasy onto the screen. If you have watched any of Troye's previous music videos (the "Blue Neighbourhood" trilogy is especially touching), you'll know they never disappoint, and "Youth" managed to surpass any and all expectations.
1. Troye, I love you, but that is one ugly couch.
Also, note just how organized and clean the room is despite being filled with empty beer bottles and used cups.
