Spoiler Guide

I am obsessed with Law & Order:SVU, so I have decided to rank of all the main characters we have seen over the last 18 seasons. This list only includes those who are considered main characters, no reoccurring characters are included.

16. Chester Lake

Chester Lake was beautiful, but he didn't last very long. He came between the duo of Munch and Fin, which is a no-no. Also the only thing I can remember about him is that he never slept and he got arrested for shooting a cop.

15. Kim Greylek

Kim Greylek is not the worst ADA we've experienced, but she's the worst of the main cast and there's a reason she had the shortest career of any of the main ADAs. She had some high points, but she was too much of crusader, looking for the next high profile case and SVU was not the place for someone like her. Plus, her departure gave us back Alex Cabot, so I wasn't sad to see her leave.

14. Monique Jeffries

Detective Jeffries' rapport with Detective Munch is my favorite part of her character. I loved her sass, but she was only around for the first two seasons and she slept with a former suspect, so SVU wasn't really the place for her.

13. Casey Novak

I'm sure to get a lot of heat for this, but I just don't like Casey Novak all that much. Maybe it's because she came after Alex Cabot, who knows, but I just was never much of a fan. Don't get me wrong, she's smart and has a high success rate, but she's not level headed and even a little arrogant on occasions. While there are far worse ADAs, I don't miss her very much.

12. Nick Amaro

I didn't think there was anyone IAB could hate more than Elliot Stabler, that was until Detective Nick Amaro came along. I don't know how he ever even became a cop, because he was more unstable than Elliot. Still, he was a good father and a good partner. His situation was often unfair, but he did most of it to himself.

11. Dominick Carisi

Carisi, we got off to a rocky start. The pornestache, your short stints in mulitple SVU squads, and your initial insensitivity, but I have grown to love you. You are so stereotypical New York it hurts and I love it. You're a little nosey, but you mean well. Thanks for the comic relief and the cannolis.

10. Amanda Rollins

Honestly, Rollins, You should've been ranked lower, but your love of baseball, your dog, and your experiences are the only reasons you're in the top 10. Girl, you are Crazy with a capital "C" but you've been through Hell with your family and your bosses back in Atlanta, so I get it. If anything, you're persistent and protective, so you're not all that and when you aren't gambling, going rogue, or having your former commanding officer's child.

9. Melinda Warner

If I could have two characters from different shows interact, it would be Dr. Warner and Ducky NCIS. I am saddened by the seemingly slow fade of Dr. Warner, she is all sass and she's a badass. Warner talked Olivia through giving her (Warner) a chest tube after she had been shot, while they were being held hostage by a crazy French lady. I will do anything for you to become a regular again, please.

8. Dr. George Huang

Please, please come back from retirement, we need you, mainly me. So, sometimes he made convictions a little harder for ADAs, but he was one of the most important people involved with Manhattan SVU. Huang gave the detectives and viewers insight that we desperately needed. He was a gay, asian man, who came face to face with the nastiest of criminals, never even blinking an eye. We love you, we miss you.

7. Capt. Donald Cragen

This is TV, were required retirement ages really necessary? Capt. Cragen is the boss we all want. He took the heat for his detectives more than once. He was a recovering alcoholic whose wife died and if you didn't cry during "Russian Brides" you don't have a heart. I'm glad he finally got some happiness back in his life, but I wish he'd come back. Mainly because I want to see him with Carisi.

6. Elliot Stabler

The original problematic fave, Elliot Stabler. I loved you, I hated you, I want(ed) to marry you. Number one in our hearts and number one on IAB's hitlist. So why isn't he number one on this list? Because Elliot Stabler was UNSTABLE. He was beautiful and had a wonderful family and he fought for victims, but the dude was 50 shades of crazy. But, the anger, the veins almost bursting in his arms, the crazy look, it was so damn attractive, We all know they gave us Amaro to fill the gaping bullet hole you left in our hearts, but no one ever could replace you. I will always be mad that you kissed Danny Beck, but never professed your love to Olivia Benson. Baby come back, but only if you've had extensive anger management.

5. John Munch

Once again, were required retirement ages actually necessary? There is no better friendship than that of Munch and Fin. I'm pretty sure one conversation with Munch and I'd be deep deep into the web of conspiracy theories. Thank you for all the jokes, all the skepticism, and for being the chillest detective alive. You are kinda my hero.

4. Rafael Barba

Rafael Barba, love of my life, light of my world. "Not my yacht" is one of the most memorable lines in SVU. The outlandish ties, the smirk, the sarcasm and sass. Barba goes all in on his cases. He's the only ADA I've accepted besides Alex Cabot. So maybe I'm a little biased towards him, but lets be real, he's great.

3. Alexandra Cabot

I want to marry Rafael Barba and I want to be Alex Cabot. When I thought she was dead for a hot second in "Loss" my heart broke. I wish you'd come back for the 100th time after disappearing to wherever it is you went now. Alexandra Cabot is just one of many of the strong women in SVU. She was never afraid to back down, not even when her life was in danger. You rock, now come back.

2. Odafin "Fin" Tutuola

I don't know what we did to deserve Fin, but I'm glad we did it. Not only does he serve as comic relief in a show full of heavy topics, but he's a good man. He stepped for his son and admitted his mistakes. He's got his partners' backs, no matter if they're a crazy conspiracy theorist or a rogue blonde woman. Please never leave us Fin Tutuola, with "Two 'Ts' and one 'ola'"

1. Olivia Benson

You knew it was coming and I'm sure my number one choice is too obvious, but how do I not pick Olivia Benson? She's a hardcore advocate and she fights tooth and nail for victims. Olivia Benson has survived sexual assaults, kidnappings, hostage situations, two unstable and angry partners, and 17 full seasons of SVU. She is the heart of the manhattan squad and she leads with vigor and she's a mother. Thank you Olivia Benson for being the strong woman we all need. If they ever try to get rid of you, I'll riot.

Thanks for journeying with me through the various faces of Law & Order SVU. Comment your favorites below!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
