Random Facts About Me

I am honestly pretty average, more so than I want to admit.

Random Facts About Me

Let's just jump right on in!

1. I love anything from the 80s

Dirty Dancing, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, Purple Rain, Prince, Michael Jackson, Toto, Chicago, White Snake, and so many more. I just love all of them. The sound and the stories are just so different from what you find in the media today, and honestly, I would much rather listen to the 80s than some of the music today.

2. I love anything Korean

Yes, another fact about me is that not only do I listen to the 80s, but I also listen to Korean Pop music. Super Junior, Big Bang, 2ne1, CL, G-Dragon, EXO, Girls Generation, T.O.P (not Twenty-one Pilots, even though they are my favorite band at the moment), IU, B2ST, Wonder Girls, and so much more. I really got into Korean culture when I was back in Junior High and I absolutely loved it within seconds.

3. I am an Interior Designer

When I was a Freshman in college I changed my major twice. I started off as Undecided, then I switched to being an English Major with a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language, and then now finally Interior Design. I have always been interested in Interior Design, but I never knew that was what I could officially major in until I officially decided on my university, and they actually offered it! So I wholeheartedly go after my Interior Design degree and it's now my third year and I love it!

4. I am in Color Guard

When I say that, there may be many of you that don't know what that is, so let me explain it. The Color Guard is an organization that is recognized as a Sport of the Art and often performs alongside the band during half time shows in the Fall and then on their own inside during the Winter/Spring. I have been a part of Color Guard for the past 6 years and I love every minute of it! I wouldn't trade my experiences that I have had in guard with any other experience through any other organization.

5. My nickname from my parents when I was little was Piglet

Don't ask, it's a long story, just know that I am still called by this nickname within my immediate family.

6. I am obsessed with shopping

I know, I know, I am a typical girl. However, I have an extremely unhealthy relationship with shopping at Target and Walmart. I just spend way too much time inside each place looking at things that I don't need and wind up buying way more than I wanted.

7, I have an addiction to parchment

Yes, you read that right. I love paper. Every time that I go into a store I can spend half an hour alone just looking at notebooks, and different journals. I am pretty sure that this obsession is linked with when I used to draw all the time when I was little. This is also linked to my obsession with writing things down as well.

8. I love the city

Have you ever heard the saying that you are either a city person or you're a country person? Well, I am most certainly a city person. I have spent almost thirteen years in a small town where everyone knows everyone, and I must say, even though I miss it, I definitely love the bigger city. I love being around skyscrapers, people, and just the skylines are so pretty.

9. I am most certainly a tea person

The on going question of Coffee or Tea is probably one that we have all be asked before. I am certainly a tea person. I hate the gritty feeling that coffee gives me when I drink it so I don't ever drink coffee.

10. I am addicted to Dr. Pepper

I kid you not, I love Dr. Pepper so freaking much and it wasn't this bad before I moved to college. I used to drink Sprite all the time, until Dr. Pepper was offered at every fountain station in the dining hall and Student Union. It has honestly gotten way out of hand.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
