Rain, rain, and more rain. Welcome to the summer of 2015, where Mother Nature is enjoying putting a damper on our summer fun, by letting loose random torrential downpours, thunderstorms, flooding, and so much more. However, let’s not let all of the rain ruin a fantastic summer. If the rain has you down in the dumps, or if you just need a simple pick me up, here are 7 fun-filled activities you can enjoy indoors on a stormy, rainy day.

1. Binge watch a new series on Netflix.

We all have that lengthy list of exciting, action-packed movies and binge worthy TV series saved to our ‘My List’ on Netflix that we all say we want to watch, but just don't have the time to do so. Why not cross off some of those movies and TV series the next time it rains. A rainy day is a perfect day to sit back relax, and start one of those new shows you’ve been saying you want to watch for the past month or so.

2. Get organized.

Nowadays, we are all saying, “I need to get my life together.” Believe it or not, a rainy day can help you do that! Make a list, whether it be a short list or a long list, of things you want to accomplish or simply organize over the next few rainy days. As you cross things off, reward yourself with something special, like a new book or outfit.

3. Catch up on sleep.

Are working 12 hour days beginning to catch up with you? How about staying up all night binge watching the newest season of Orange is the New Black? Use one of your rainy days off to catch up on some sleep. Then, you’ll be ready and more prepared to face the challenges of tomorrow.

4. Cook something.

One of the best ways to keep busy on a rainy day is to cook. Why not use up some of those ingredients that have been sitting around in the cabinet and that you’ve been wanting to try. And the best part of cooking is that you’ll have a tasty treat for later!

5. Read a book.

Reading is a great way to go on an adventure without ever having to leave your house. Pick a random book off of your bookshelf, take a trip to the library, download a new book to your Kindle or Nook, or even borrow a book from a friend. It’ll help you forget about the rainy days and take you someplace new each time you begin a new book.

6. Build a fort.

Want to go camping, but are afraid Mother Nature is going to send a wicked storm your way? Build a blanket fort in your living room. Set up some chairs and drape blankets between the chairs and the couch. It’s like you’re bringing the great outdoors, indoors, but without some of the things we don’t enjoy when camping, like the bugs and creepy noises. You can even make some s’mores in the microwave to enhance the real camping experience.

7. Dance in the rain.

Why not let loose and show off your dance moves a little? Grab your swimsuit and rain boots, play some music, let loose, and enjoy the rain. But, be careful and watch out for lightning!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
