Whoa, is it just me or has Mother Nature lost her mind this year? The weather has been the strangest thing. As college students one of the things that we hate is the weather, especially when it's 19 degrees with snow on the ground then 60 degrees and sunny the next day. Dressing for this weather is a difficult task. Until Mother Nature takes a chill pill be prepared for extreme weather and wearing rain boots, shorts, and a parka all in one day!
Summer: The first month or so of school the summer heat is still blazing which makes the walk to class a sweaty one. T-shirts and shorts with flip-flops will be your go-to outfit. Plus, you will be already dressed to head to the gym. You can even go with a cute tank top/flowy shirt and shorts with a cute pair of sandals if you want to go for a dressier look.
Fall: Football games and tailgate parties are the main events of a fall season. Break out those riding boots and dresses, jean shirts, and colored capris. Or wear your school colors with pride! It so much easier to dress cute when it’s not 85 degrees outside.
Winter: 14 degrees outside and you still have to make it to class. Better bundle up! Sweatshirts, puffy vests, leggings, boots, and a blanket scarf will almost keep you warm. A cute ear warmer and gloves will work perfectly for those across campus walks.
Spring: A college student’s favorite time of the year. The weather gets nice, and the end of the semester is just around the corner. T-shirts and leggings with tennis shoes become the staples in your wardrobe!
Rain: It rains more on a college campus then it does in Seattle. Always be prepared. You can never go wrong with a rain jacket and rain boots or the new duck boots. You may want to invest in a boat to get to your classes, because college campuses like to flood.
Snow: Snow days? A thing of the past: better grab your skis and get to moving. Duck boots with thick socks to keep your feet warm. Grab a blanket scarf to bundle up in; you might want to go ahead and wrap it all around your face because the snowy air is brutal.
Wind: You don’t even have to fix your hair on windy days; a pony tail or messy bun will do just fine. Stay away from flowy skirts/dresses or you will be the next Marilyn Monroe. Wind resistant jackets and leggings with a t-shirt will be perfect for this windy day!
Ice: Might as well lace on your ice skates because campus sidewalks are equivalent to an ice skating rink. Wear what you feel is necessary, just be extra careful!
Whatever weather Mother Nature brings during the crazy seasons you are now prepared with this quick wardrobe guide! Whatever fits your weather needs, you can never go wrong with the “comfy cute” style or dress it up with “casual cute,” but always be weather prepared!
