When dealing with a heavy workload it’s easy to lose sight of what exact needs to be done, including deadlines of important assignments and everyday goals that need to be met. From my experience, I learned that the college life is a busy life. From having intense classes with hours of homework, extracurricular activities year round, hanging out with yours peers, and countless hours working it can be hard to manage everything at once. It’s very easy for students living on or off campus to feel overwhelmed with it all. It’s not hard to push a task off, and sometimes people resort to take the path of least resistance and choose to not do the action that needs to be done in the first place. Doing such a thing is called procrastination. Procrastination is an evil thing which corrupts many people. It can cause lots of unhealthy stress to the individual and result in lack of sleep, bad eating choices, poor grades, and even emotional breakdowns. It’s important to stop procrastination before it happens, and use excellent time management skills to better yourself off. Creating an agenda/checklist and writing down assignments helps lots of people, even those who are not in college. Having what needs to be done written down in front of you helps more than you think so. There are many other ways to gain better time management in your life, but in most cases it’s all about finally putting a stop to procrastinating and realizing what will help you become better organized in order to complete tasks that need to be done.
We’re all guilty of procrastination and poor time management, but at the end of the day we need to realize that some things in life we can not push off. Assignments and tasks that need to be done, whether big or small, are all equally important. Successfully managing your time can result in a healthy lifestyle with no stress, and believe it or not more free time. Time management is an important life skill that can be difficult to perfect, but once you have it will be nothing but smooth sailing. Put an end to procrastination, and manage your time.
